RE: Football Banter
Today Crawley Town almost pulled off the shock of the century - United were a very worried team with hearts in mouths when that chance bounded off the crossbar at the end. Fair play to Crawley for keeping the non-league end up. Smile

I'm counting down the hours and minutes to the first black country derby of the premier league season. Wolves travel across the divide into Albion country to take on the old enemy at The Hawthorns Sunday lunchtime. Must win for both sides, a draw's not really any good. Makes it all the more spicer ahead of the high noon showdown. Come on Wolves! Smile

I honestly think it's too close to call.
Pick any result and any score no one knows. I live in between Wolverhampton and West Brom and I mix with the inbreds and no one knows.Closest contest i've ever known but us Dingles will just shade it or maybe we'll win it easy..my head hurts. Don't waste your money on the inbreds go for the draw..Smile

Yeah i can see a 2-2 draw or somethin mate.Roys first game in charge though...Might give West Brom that bit extra to get a win?

No doubt Hodgson would've been workin through the week on gettin them organised at the back.Which was badly needed.

Could go either way though. Is it on telly?

Its not on sky, but I'll be able to watch it on a cable channel in my local.

I'm hopeful Wolves can sneak it, but I would take a draw too if someone offered it. We haven't beaten the Albion at The Hawthorns for a while now, not since 1996 when Iwan Roberts' hat trick laid waste to them... it would be good to see us grinding out more results away from home and a gritty draw wouldn't be too bad. Keeps it all open and anyone's guess until the end of the season.

If either side does sneak it, I can see maybe one goal winning it, from a corner or free kick. If a draw, possibly a battling high score draw.

So in short, all this means I haven't got a clue how its going to go! Just bring it on. Big Grin

I think what Regenerated is trying to say is that it's a game neither team can afford to lose, which usually means a boring game...Smile
But as neither team are that great when it comes to defending it could be quite entertaining if you're a neutral..Smile

Yeah I know what you mean mate. It was end to end that day, and it was a bit frantic, even towards the end when we were 4 up! I know its going to be nerve-wracking tomorrow, just hope we can get a result that suits us. Smile

I can't remember how much that Man Utd are paying Rooney but they need to get a refund.

He was rubbish and that was against a non league team.

Right Malicious, time for a maths lesson!

Crawley town's home attendances are around the 4-5,000 mark; today they took 9,000 to Old Trafford. Now I'd guess there were a few glory-hunters on-board the trains and coaches heading north today wouldn't you? Chelsea fans, I'd guess, going to see the real Torres in action.

By the way, Crawley Town were by no means the worst team I have seen at Old Trafford this season; even taking into account the dreadful circus of clowns Ferguson selected, Crawley showed far more ambition in going forward than one or two others I could mention, so well done Crawley, and you'll be a welcome addition to the football league next season all things being equal.
