RE: Football Banter
I know that the majority of the posts on this forum is all about the so-called best league in the World English Premiership but tonights Old Firm derby north of the border put your Man Utd v Chelsea games etc to shame. Up here we had end to end football, good old fashioned brawling including numerous yellow cards and 3 red cards and to top it all off an all out brawl at the very end of the game between Neil Lennon and Ally Mcoist. Great entertainment and that's not even half the story.

i watched that game not for the quality but for the fact i knew players were guarenteed to get sent off just was'nt expecting that many, the SPL is a piss poor league here's why, you take an average player from the championship and throw him in your league and he becomes the best player in the SPL. how does it put our games to shame ? football isnt about kicking fuck out of everyone in sight, maybe in scotland it does because it's played by a bunch of brute's with not an ounce of quality anywhere. so in summary the SPL is a joke

RE: Football Banter
Plans for a Sainsbury's supermarket at Ashton Gate in Bristol have been approved despite a wealth of opposition from local residents and retailers.
Sainsbury's can now build on Bristol City Football Club's ground, subject to a legal agreement and conditions.
Planners had recommended the scheme be rejected because of the negative impact on traders in nearby Bedminster.
The football club was relying on the £20m income from the sale of Ashton Gate to partially fund a new stadium.
Out of nine councillors on the development control committee, six voted yes, one voted no and two abstained.
Before a final decision can be made, the application has to be sent to central government to consider whether the Secretary of State should become involved.
The new 30,000-seater stadium at nearby Ashton Vale, which has already been granted planning permission by the council, would cost £92m.
Five new councillors helped decide on the plan after some regular members of the committee stood aside because of abuse they suffered at a previous hearing.
In July, the original plans for what would be the South West's biggest supermarket were rejected before revised plans were submitted in November.
Traders are worried the new Sainsbury's could have an impact on their shops Campaign group Stop Sainsbury's had said it was worried by the prospect of extra traffic, including lorries, on roads in the area.
It said the development would also be a threat to jobs in other nearby stores.
Bristol Civic Society also objected saying there was "no material difference between the first and the second applications" for a new store.
A study by property consultancy GVA, which was commissioned by the city council, found the negative retail impact of the store on nearby Bedminster would outweigh any benefits.
However, Sainsbury's said the report did not take into account benefits of the proposal such as investment, job opportunities and regeneration

SPL is shit. the only good matches are rangers v celtic and vice versa. SPL is a cheap ass version of la liga which is also shit. So the SPL is even crap. the only good matches in la liga are madrid vs barcelona and vice versa. Always rangers or celtic winning the title. and in la liga always barcelona or madrid going for it.
The premier league is the best league by a mile. Arsenal, chelsea, man united, man city and tottenham, Liverpool can all win it at the start. It has been such an exciting title race and now we are down to two. And after man United's loss yesterday and the fact that they have to play liverpool on sunday being only a point in front of arsenal makes it so interesting. You still don't know who is going to win it. So exciting is the premier league.
