So they buy Pride who at the time albeit struggling was maybe the most well known worldwide MMA organization & then send it to the same time zone as the dinosaurs, & then buy WEC & within a matter of moments disband it & take it's best tallent & now Strikeforce, whats up are they scared of some healthy competition???
Strikeforce has been doing well of late & it's last few shows have been better than the whole of the UFC events of 2011. So what now for Strikeforce,
'Business as usual' Errr ok but for how long, till the current contracts run out over the next 2 years???
I've got a feeling that when these contracts fizzle out then Strikeforce will be re-UFC-branded & end up as a UFC Fight Night style show & sent to all corners of the globe to showcase all the so called up & coming fighters aswell as the fighters that are still on it's books like Paul Daley, Dan Henderson & co (Eventhough Hendo won't be around then) & it will also be used for guys like Chuck Liddell, Randy Couture, Mirko Cro Cop, Tito Ortiz etc etc as a way of them extending their careers & the UFC billing it's show at the MEN Arena as a clash of MMA legends.
Why do they need more fighters when they've got too many already & some are now only being given max 3 fights a year so Dana can hype the UFC with the big so called super fights involving all the big name fighters some of which have only been with the UFC for 5 minutes.
So it's on this I say Alistair Overeem will be the UFC heavyweight champion by the end of the year after making Brock Lesnar look silly in a contender fight & the big fight of New Years Day 2012 will be Alistair Overeem v Cain Velasquez 2.
I could go on all day about how these kind of deals & Dana 'Up my own ass' White fucks me right off but it's Sunday & this is the day of rest!!!
Here's a few Strikeforce fighters I'd like to see in or back in the UFC.
Nick Diaz, Welterweight, One of my favourite fighters, just think him & GSP fighting for supremacy,
groundnpound leave your biased opinions at home thankyou!!!
Paul Daley, Welterweight, Ok so this may not happen but if 'Semtex' can sort his ground game out then the UFC can only ignore him for so long & with the buy out it will only fuel people's hunger for him to be brought back albeit probably on a shitty wage for a year or two.
Robbie Lawler, Middleweight, Just think 'Ruthless' v Rich Franklin this would be a pure knockle on knuckle fest.
Alistair Overeem, Heavyweight, The cat amongst the heavyweight pigeons.
Fedor Emelianenko, Heavyweight, Ok so he would stay on the Strikeforce road show with Cro Cop & co but still you can't tell me you don't wanna see it just once.
Before I posted this I had a look at what The Daily Telegraph's Gareth A Davies had to say on the matter & it looks like I may have a point with the 'Legends' fighting on the Strikeforce card.

Oh yeah & Aprill 9th
Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley Mmmmmm what id Paul Daley wins & becomes Strikeforce welterweight champion on the very first card of the Strikeforce/Zuffa era....
