Sony has detailed the theft identity protection plan for PlayStation Network and Qriocity consumers in UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany today.

To ensure people are protected Sony has announced that Affinion International Limited, will be offering a comprehensive service that covers a significant proportion of PSN users free of charge for the first 12 months.

Affinion International Limited will be offering the following identity theft protection service and insurance through their fraud protect programme for the UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany.

The fraud protect proposition cover three key areas:

Personal Information protection

Monitoring and Alerting Service
Personal Information Protection Software

Help / Assistance and guidance

Dedicated helpline
Victim of Fraud support

Financial Protection

Insurance that covers the expenses incurred in identity restoration following identity fraud
Card Monitoring and Alerting Service

Sony will provide information on how to contact Affinion shortly about this service.

The PSN Store is back up running now but there's a few errors with it, but i've managed to download two demos Red Faction Amagaddon and Imfamous 2 i got a error code whenn i first tried to download them but you have to keep trying till they work. Also PSN+ members will get a extra 10 tens on top the extra 60 days membership from the welcome pack because of the extra delay. The welcome pack has been put yet as there running a few final tests but should be up in the next few days

Its gonna take me a while to trust these guys. Luckily I have an xbox360 as well so they are the recipients of my online business at the moment!!

Personally i think all the of the consoles have got problems its how they handly it, first Sony the problems with hacking were just bad and the fact that they never had it protected right in the first place and even having a firewall up was simply as a company as big Sony was just bad and then not saying what was going on for over week was bad yet again. On top of that they didn't even give a date as when everything was coming back was yet again very bad but least for there giving people a welcome pack for psn users will people totally trust them again only time will tell, the Xbox 360 has problems with the red ring of death, now i can understand if this problem was only happening in the first batch of 360's that came out but it was a worse then that, even when they brought out newer chipsets and newer motherboards same problem and it hasn't gone away as the new slimline ones still have the same problem if i was paying for any console i wouldn't expect after years after the machines have been out and with newer updates models that its still happening, a guy i know had the slim one for three weeks next min red ring death another friend of mine been through three 360's but having said that at least microsoft are better at handling the problem then sony and lastly nintendo the wii a good console with motion control games but the problems with Wii are that its not powerful enough and as for the online its load of old shit you can't add friends like what you do on a 360 or psn, you have to give people your 16 digi code which bloody silly. just hope with new console next year that take leaf out of the book like what sony and microsoft have done with there online gaming and do it right. Am bashing any of console as i love all of them its these companies need to give us customers good service as with us there nothing.

Good response. They take us all for granted. Hopefully then this hacker has done us all a favour and Sony are hurt enough to really look after us.Microsoft would respond exactly the same I suspect so you right.

I even heard that a few months ago that Amazon got hacked and it was the same people, which would explain why it was easy to hack sony as i remember reading some where that sony use amazon server's on top of that play.com also got hacked a couple months back too. The hackers are doing us any favours and need sorted out big time the question is how to catch them . This is a big wake up call that nothing online is safe and we need i information and services protected.

Fucking scary kalel!!! Thats why I gone down the pre paid card route with these services so my losses are limited if the worse happens.

Thats what am gonna do with stuff i buy over the consoles as for sites for dvd's and games best advice i can give is watch your bank statements every month even if someone has used your details most cases the banks will always give your money back

if the store is back how do we download those free games sony said psn users were allowed cuz of the hackers bringing it down
