Carragher is 33 now. Obviously he is going to lose a little of what he had as father time catches up on him. I'll concede that. But you've made out he was never up to it. You said he'd have got in the England team if he was any good. It's a rather lame argument to be honest. Cesc Fabregas is a world class midfielder but cant get in the Spanish team...why?? Because he has the misfortune of playing in an era where Xavi, Inesta and Alonso were playing in. It's the same with Carragher....he had Ferdinand and Terry to contend with. Doesnt take from his ability. We've watched Carragher for years and appreciate how great a defender he is. We'd have lost a hell of a lot more matches if Carra hadnt been in our team.

I tend to agree with alot of what u say,he just not fast enough for the prem anymore im afraid, and his constant harrasment of the other players does start 2 get on people nerves in the end, i mean he constantly was on arbelola case when he was there nearly attacking him n a meaningless game against wba when it was infact his own goals against hull n spurs that cost liverpool that season, he got 2 many own goals 2 put it down 2 bad luck imo arbelola was a great defender and proved that at real madrid
