RE: Football Banter
Love all this!!! It's starting to heat up here now and it's still 3 weeks before a ball is kicked in angerSmile Bring it on.

And by the way.....it's never nice to lose by 3 to a much inferior side and obviously i wasnt laughing at the result, but i'll worry about things if we're beaten by 3 on August 13th. I was laughing at those reading too much into a meaningless pre-season friendly. We put 6 past a team last week and Chelsea only drew with them a few days later. Should Chelsea fans worry?? No, course notRolleyes

Judge me by my size do you? Hmmm? Hmmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the force. And a powerful ally it is.

Fair play, but we won the 1st leg 3-0 so didn't need to do anything for that game, so it was treated like a pre-season game! Big Grin

Jackster is a name I could get used to!

So this is why a Fulham fan dropping the 'small club mentality' bomb, could be seen as at the most, throwing stones in a glass house, and at the least, self-limiting.

I appreciate everything you have said, but in comparison to Hull, we are a big team...compared to the top 4 teams, we are not, and I'll be the first to admit it! In relation to the premier league in general, I don't consider us a small team, more a run-of-the mill team.

Just out of curiosity, who do you follow?

Well, I'm sure it will come as no surprise to you that I support a small club, Coventry to be exact. Although personally, I don't see any problem with supporting smaller clubs, especially if they're your hometown club.

But that aside, my initial comment was born out of surprise mainly. I hear the 'small club mentality' phrase quite a lot (obviously ;-)) so when I saw you say it, I was thinking, so does he support Chelsea? United? Arsenal? Spurs? Man City? ... Ah Fulham! Wait what? ;-)

Not a massive dig or anything... but surely you can see what I mean?

Hull are considered a big club actually. Not in history or trophies but going on the support they get through being the only club in the area like Sunderland & Newcastle. Fulham are in comparison a small club due to the amout of teams in London especially North & West.

Harrods Mo is to thank for you being in the Premier League, if Hull had someone like that I think they'd be able to achieve something like what Wolves have.
I heard the other day that Hull are in takeover talks is this correct gazfc

Yes Hull are, they've just been taken over by our once chairman and current head of football operations sir Adam Pearson

I'll should point out that when people say Hull, they're refering to Hull FC the rl club, we're Hull city.

Haha fulham bigger club, lulz srsly this has made my day

I need to point something out about today's game as I've just flicked on the game on tv.

The minutes applause was nothing to do with what happened in Norway, it was a minutes applause for a 15 year city fan that died recently.

have fun in the championship.

Anyone who genuinely thinks we are a smaller club that Hull is stupid.

A Premier League team for 10 years, Europe 3 times, 3 top 10 finishes vs a team in the Premier League for 2 seasons?

Arguing geographically regarding size of club isn't completely relevant, so what if there are more teams in London? We still have more fans turn up than Hull. Size of a club has a lot more to do with performances. In that regard we are, in no doubt, bigger than Hull.

Northerners stick together I suppose

Shit northern team

2009–10 Premier League 24,390[21]
2008–09 Premier League 24,816[21]

2006–07 Championship 18,583[23]
2005–06 Championship 19,841[24]
2004–05 League One 18,027[25]
2003–04 Division Three 16,846[26]

Yeah they do but oh wait when we was in the same league ours was higher laugh For such a big club I'd be embarrassed by your average attendance. (esp when the true big clubs bring a couple of thousand with them while in the lower leagues bring as little as 100)

Dont worry we'll have a lot of fun, dont worry we'll be trying to get promoted to play such big clubs as yourself, hopefully that way we can carry on our fantastic record against you in the pl ( 3 wins against your one, just incase you forgot)

The only difference between our clubs, you've got a richer owner
