The Pixies
but honourable mention for Interpol, Prodigy, Queens of the Stone Age, The Breeders, Chemical Brothers, Nirvana, Dandy Warhols, The Cure, Dead Can Dance, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Muse, Portishead, Massive Attack, Goldfrapp, REM, Soundgarden...
Stadium Bands: - Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, Queen & U2. All of whom could reproduce the music brilliantly "live", coupled with fantastic lighting & effects.
I would just like to know what stuff peeps listen to...
I have a varied taste in music which spans most genres....at the moment I'm into the dubstep scene...I listen to my ipod quite alot and always have it very loud...almost on the verge of my ears bleeding..
I use Itunes...not always purchasing music, but using the podcasts they have...they are free and sometimes U can find a tune or variety of songs that last well over an hour..so well worth looking out for...
Anyone whos into kickass dubstep ....would U please Pm me and mention which artists U like..I've a few that peeps may not have heard of and would love to share...
My musical tastes vary, I'm very open minded, I play trumpet you see in a Blues Band. Ofcourse I am a massive fan of Queen - original line up. That was back in the days when in order for a band to play at Wembley they had to be great, Queen were one of the few bands to play there in the 80's and sold it out in back to back shows in 1986.
I also admit I have a soft spot for Lady gaga, there is something about her that is pure magic and iconic.
When it comes to heavy metal, one of the first bands I listened to was Guns n Roses. Terrific riffs, melodies and guitar solos. I also grew up listening to good scottish bands such as Deacon Blue especially with the lead singer Ricky Ross also being a Dundee United fan.
I grew my hair like Kurt Kubain in the 90's. I remember to this day where I was and what I was doing the day he committed suicide, I was devastated. Other bands of the 90's I was really into was Manic Street Preachers and Radiohead, I was never one for Oasis or Blur as I despised them both.
Megadeath and Metallica too were great heavy metal bands. REM again I appreciated their calming music aswell as the very poet lyrics.
Also guys like Tony Bennet, Frank Sinatara and co are just fantastic muscians even Johnny Cash at a push.
Today I like to listen to new and old. What makes me switch off is shit like Justin Beiber aswell as any boyband, they are fucking shit. I also hate that we are young single right now. I want to throw something off the wall every time I hear it come on the radio alongside Jessie J and fucking Dominoe.
But like I said I am very open minded, I've never been one for only listening to one certain genre. Anything really so long as it's good.
