Red Light Central have now further imposed a total ban on recording any of their channels on the Sky epg by use of a blocking signal on the broadcast.

This does not stop anyone recording the shows with a dvd recorder connected to the sky box vga output.

Sorry to slip off-topic here, but the first statement quoted here just isn't the case. I've just tested RLC on my Sky box and successfully recorded (and played back) three minutes worth.

Well, I ask you all again; What is Ofcon achieving by this ban/restriction on adult material on UK TV?

Is it making us a better society? From what we all saw happenning in London and other major UK cities, no it is not.

Here you have a major western democaracy struggling to contain a certain section of its population from causing absolute mayhem in society so banning R18 has had absolutely zero effect on that. It happened in spite of the ban.

What more would happen if we were allowed to see full R18 on TV? Would the riots behave been more violent? Hardly!

Ofcon are only doing it to satisfy a small number of civil servants and some blue-rinse Tories.

Ofcom were given the power and because one channel rats on another channel we have the mess we have funny tho how everyone hates the channel that did the ratting perhaps they should just concentrate on getting a better show together but I guess that's to much like work it's easier just to complain Smile

Well allowing R18 on the fta babe channels may have the effect of lowering sex crimes, but that's not something Ofcom would be interested in hearing.

I don't know where the UK figures in the world table, but I think it's fair to say we have a fairly high rate of sex crime - we also have one of the most repressed attitudes towards sex and nudity too. Go figure bladewave

No Broadcasting Bulletin this week. Apparently people dont get offended if there is a bank holiday in the month.
