Football Banter

Just seen Everton managed to get Royston Drenthe in from Real Madrid, a very good player, and with the up coming midfielders they have coming through, I'm wondering how much they will miss Arteta.

I was reading last week I think an article by Arteta demanding that Everton hold on to their star players... Funny ol' game

Days gone by but I thought I'd post this anyway for future reference

I wasn't around much at the weekend so didn't get chance to have a word which I would've done (As the head name on the thread) with regards to some of the posts which took place.
To me banter implies good humoured chat, mickey/piss taking etc, as long as it relates to football and doesn't cross the line. Recently, it appears that at least one post made in this thread did cross that line.

The thread subject (banter) provides members with licence to take the piss out of each other more than in any other thread on the forum. Members do have to expect this to happen to them or their posts. But there's still a limit. even if a Liverpool fan responds to your post it doesn't mean they are targeting you as a Liverpool fan it's just across the board football banter. The reason I say this using Liverpool is because it's happened before with people responding to some banter from a Liverpool fan with a pretty much F you Scouse tossers style post, Closing the thread for a little while can serve as a reality check for people.
People will have to respect the fact that along with the discissions on the weekends football & general chat i.e the transfer deadline day stuff there will also be a little harmless banter with the posters that don't mind taking part in it.
This thread is for everyone to read & post but those who wish to enter it will have to understand the title says banter & even if you don't wanna take part in it it will still occasionally happen.

A little pointer to my fellow Liverpool fans & the Man Utd fans, If you don't like whats being said especially if it starts to get personal then the best thing to do is not to respond as the fellow poster won't have anything to respond to themselves.

any1 else notice barca uva day only played with 1 recognised defender in abidal, and still beat villareal 5-0. they just had a team with a few forwards and a gang of midfielders, and villareal still couldnt do anything against them. dont want to put our champions league teams down, but i dont think any of our teams will beat them if they come up against them this season! but you dont have to know alot about football to know that

Disappointed to see raul leave the pool, we have lots of midfielders but few quality ones apart from gerrard which is a problem since he will always be injured now he is the wrong side of 30 we should have only let raul go if we had a replacement and before anyone defends Lucas no be is not good enough.
