Precisely; IF they want stronger content. Yes the producers and girls will occasionally come on here and blame their lack lustre shows on Ofcom, but I'm now (and have been for some time) thinking that this is being used largely as an excuse for their laziness.

We have to face facts and look at it from their point of view. Why do we presume these channel producers want to spend time and money, and risk losing it all, fighting Ofcom for stronger content, if they're making enough money as it currently stands?

I'm starting to irritate even myself with this next line, but I will continue to say it until someone can offer up a good reason why it isn't precisely the case: Nothing will change regarding strength of content until the channels start losing money on a scale that seriously threatens the health of their business. And on that point, let me put another question to you all. How many babeshow producers have taking part in these Ofcom threads, stating that the situation is dreadful and that something needs to be done? I'll give you a clue, it's between -1 and 1.

RE: Petition
Not even the closure of Bangbabes at the turn of the year was enough to send alarm bells ringing as far as the producers of these shows was concerned. I would have thought at least one of them might have thought "Oh shit" but no, they are blindingly carrying on as if nothing ever happened, or maybe they are that arrogant they think it'll never happen to them. The reality is Ofcom have a masterplan and that is the closure of every single Babe Channel that currently exists. Ofcom given enough time and power will stitch them all up and what we have now will become a distant memory. The times for the majority of them at the moment couldn't be any better, the money is rolling in, their bank accounts are overflowing with cash and they are almost choking on the amount they are making, that'll change when they have all been eliminated from the SKY EPG and only then will they look back and say maybe we should have listened. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/13222

RE: Petition
StanTheMan and Scottish bloke, you are both bang on the money!

Firstly, I do believe unfortunatly the channels just don't give a toss. All the time they are making money they don't give a flying saucer. Why would they want to risk it all like mentioned. They don't want to upset offcom because as far as they are concerned they are running sustainable business's so to hell with what we think.

Secondly, the loss of Bangbabes will always be the greatest loss to the babechannels. They were willing to push the boundaries, okay they paid for it in the end, but look back at the videos compared to every other station and they were always the best, and I bet given half a chance they'd have taken it EVEN further.
Other channels just play if safe, sometimes you get a babe who tries to take it further, but generally it seems they are happy to please the fanboys who are the bread and butter of these channels. To a degree why not as well... They are running a business and getting by, who cares what we think?! ....Let's just wait and see, because soon enough they will have to start pandering to people who want to see more then a static babe on a bed with her tits out.

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.

But it did set alarms bells ringing. Bangbabes' demise wasn't down to a lack of calls/revenue because their shows were dull... quite the reverse, in fact. The only alarms bells heard from that episode was a warning not to take on Ofcom.

But that's the point, Scottishbloke. They won't be 'eliminated' from the Sky EPG because like all the channels, they're making sure they do everything in their power to stave off any interest from Ofcom.

RE: Petition
Well i've just come back of holiday, and Whoopido nothing has changed, but lets not kid ourselves i wasn't expecting anything different. I've been reading the comments, and i must agree, it seems the producers can't really be that bothered, or worried at all.
Why we ask ourselves: people our simply calling in way way to much hence lining there pockets, and there laughing all the way to the bank.
I guess if the public stop calling in, soon enough panic will set in all to quick and then the producers will start giving Ofcom what for. It's amazing what self preservation will do to anyone.
However we can all live in hope, with the coalition government making cuts all over the place, and maybe someone with common sense takes over at the helm at Ofcom maybe just maybe things will change for the better??

Dont blame Ofcom for everything. 38 complaints against Bang, 24 from businesses, 12 from individuals, 2 Ofcom monitoring.

RE: Petition
Yes I've allways mantained that changes at the top of Ofcom could also go a long way into improving the situation, before ofcom we had the ITC and the Babe Channels under them simply weren't an Issue, their primary focus if I remember was on the mainstream channels and making sure they adhered to the watershed. Good point you also made about self preservation continental19 which is very true, I don't understand for the life of me where these regular caller's are coming from, I certainly only phone the shows once in a bluemoon and it's generally when I've just come back from the pub and half pissed, and I only ever phone up for the banter but that's on the very rare occasion, I would phone more if I was getting the real product on screen. But yes if either Ofcom are or are not part of the government cuts all we can hope for is that any future committee panel on Ofcom look at the babe channels and encrypted ones in a more favourable light than they do at present. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/13222

Further update this petition is currently at Page 17 of 318 so if we could at least try and make it into the top 10 before the end of the week, it would at least be a small step in the right direction.

You must have a real postcode. As far as I can see they dont check against the Electoral Register and as people move I dont see that would be possible, so you could use a mates address if, say, you are a Cabinet Minister worried about privacy. There dont even seem to be any account management options so EVEN YOU CANT SEE YOUR DETAILS. They say the only thing they use contacts for are to update you about that petition, nothing else. They dont write to the address. And its perfectly legal to use variations of your name, like your middle name and your Mums maiden name. Just dont sign up as Mickey Mouse or Ian Paisley please.
