Dreadful idea. The games are already spread far too thinly across the weekend (and half the next week) and European games make it even more difficult to arrange the calendar. As a miserable old(ish) git I say let's go back to all games on Saturday at 3, apart from one live match on a Sunday afternoon. The European Cup to be competed for by actual Champions rather than teams who have finished fourth. Jimmy Hill presenting Match of the Day and NO FUCKING MUSIC WHEN A TEAM SCORES!!!!

and while we're at it, bring back the Big Match as well, with regionalised coverage so everyone stands a chance of watching their local team. Televised footie started to go down the plughole in the late 80s when some bright sparks at ITV decided that the whole country should watch Man United or Liverpool every week, and you had to count yourself lucky that they showed the goals from the other games.

Today was ace, terracing is ace!!!

This I strongly agree with, being a Premiership man I hate it when a promoted team does this, it leaves me saying, "Your in the Premier League now, if you need help to celebrate a goal then you shouldn't be here!!!" The only ground that should have music playing after the kick off is the Emirates & that should have music playing for the full 90min, every ground needs some sort of noise.

No Championship fans were harmed in the mak..... I hope no Championship fans were harmed in the making of this post. Arsenal fans, well just stay quiet... As usual.

Wolves employ a similar musical celebration when our guys score, and it seems that every member of the squad has his own individual signature tune... Dave Edwards is the "Minder" theme tune, Karl Henry's is a hideous rendition of "I'm Henry the 8th I am" and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake's is an amended version of KC and the Sunshine Band's "Give It Up".

Admittedly, we don't get to hear these painful-on-the-ears tunes too regularly because Wolves don't score very often...

Leave the noise generated to the crowd. No need for goal celebration music after kick-off.

I agree entirely with that. What was wrong with calling it the European Cup??? At the end of the day it isnt a league, it's a cup competition albeit the biggest cup competition in club football. Calling it the European Cup makes more sense than the Champions League especially as it's not exclusive to league champions.
