Petition now signed..Why does ofcom think female genatalia is bad yet they shown full grown males anytime yet females is banned anytime unless its a health programme.I am 40 years old now so this hatred started when i was about 15 when i noticed dangling male penises and when it went to women it was fuzzed out or the camera stopped going as low or filmed women from behind..I was querying stuff back then and so many times ive sat with a girlfriend and eurotrash would come on with full male genatalia but females were pixellated out,,we split up because i was so pissed off at this sexism..This was before the internet etc and there were porn shops but this is British TV ,why can a women see penises yet men are left out..I wrote to daily mirror ,daily mail etc with them saying they have logged the complaint..My most tecent email to channel 5 that i got a reply said,,"Generation sex is a humoured look at todays sexual lifestyles and though we show male genatalia showing female genatalia would break ofcom rules"...Well you can guess why channel 5 wont reply to my emails i went through the bloody roof..The thing is ofcom dont do anything when they break the rules,they might ask the channel to apologise but thats it..Ofcom do not watch programmes before they are broadcast its up to folk to complain else nothing is done..If they showed female genatalia which they should do the sexist expletives then i bet no one would complain..TV has made the vagina taboo .

A parallell can be drawn, I.M.O. between Ofcon's stance and that of the midle-eastern fundamentalists ( albeit not as extreme).

The common ground, is for me, this fear of the power of the female to excite.

The extreme muslim has to cover them up; Ofcon have to censor the imagery on TV.

I firmly believe that this fear is what drives Ofcon to censor out TV channels, both encrypted and free view.

lets face it ,were floogging a dead horse, i am fed up of sitting in front of the box watching dire shit thinking things can only get better but for how long?,its gone on for too long now ,with none of the channels having the balls to do anything about it ,and seem quite happy to let things as they are be,if they had an ounce of decency they would come on here and explain why they have taken such drastic measures,i think death of all of these channels wouldnt be a bad thing,then maybe a phoenix can rise from the ashes and give the babe channels tag its former glory of good adult entertainment,surely theres another direction with the right ideas for something different to what were used to,but these channels at present just cant be bothered

Well statistics don't lie, the babe channel's don't give a fuck about improving the product in the same way that only 298 people are bothered, I'm sure many will find if we get 300 signatures as positive, I don't as it's not near damn good enough, don't expect an explanation from any of the channel reps as they don't care and it's fairly obvious. I'm sure that some time or another that the censorship will be lifted but it'll not come courtesy of any of the channels pushing for change, it'll purely be circumstantial and most likely from another source. All we can hope for is that Ofcom are taken on by some of the larger more mainstream channels, how long and when this happens remains to be seen but they will be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century at some time, all we have left now is hope but it'll not happen over night, unfortunately we could still be waiting years before any changes are made.

Hope so too, but it seems that none of the channels have the balls to stand up to Ofcon and, from where we as customers see things, it's as if they enjoy being shafted by them.

But what the babe channels don't actually realise that in terms of making a substantial profit that they are cutting their nose off to spite their face, I can recall back in the day when Sexstation TV and Babestar TV were going strong with full frontal dildo FTA shows that you could never get through if you tried to phone, on the very rare occasion that I do call the show's now I almost always get through very quickly and I've only ever generally phoned when I've just got back from the pub absolutely shitfaced because in the cold light of day I have no desire to phone a premium rate phone number only to be told sorry I can't show you that because of Ofcom as I've been on the recieving end of that line all too recent. I'm sure many more and myself included would happily call in if it was worth the expense but it just ain't at the moment and the experience can actually make you feel coming off the phone very deflated and a feeling of unsatisfaction. But like I said that doesn't seem to bother the channels as they still get a selection of their hardcore caller's who are otherwise known as fanboys.

Welcome aboard and thanks for signing up. There is a disconnect between the evidence the Ofcom collects and the rules it produces. Ofcom claims to be impartial and merely to reflect public attitudes. When Ofcom paid for a survey into public attitudes it was quite clearly stated by the public in relation to naked bodies "participants said material showing both men and women should be regulated in a similar manner" (sextv.pdf, survey June 2009, page 39).

As for Ofcom allowing male genitals but not allowing female ones - words fail me. Its the other way round on the encrypted stuff, open leg shots but [almost] never a stiffy resulting in cut to pieces one dimensional sex scenes. A naked man and a naked woman together in a sexual situation but every frame with a stiffy in it has to be cut. Carnage.

The one exception to this seems to be The Lovers Guide. Recently this has been shown in 1/2 hour chunks on Sky channel 275 Body In Balance (the yoga channel to you and me) at 10:30 or 11pm on odd days. I have "Pleasuring Your Partner" a few weeks back and there must have been 10 minutes of sexually explict content in a 30 minute show. A woman clearly stroked an erect penis. A man fingered a womans labia. Actually to make the point the scene was repeated with 4 or 5 couples. A woman flicked her tongue - well, you get the idea. (The next one I saw was more Making Of and anything explicit was blurred out so content varies). Tuesday and Thursday this week they are showing episode 6 One Night Stands, which might just be talking heads. Also 11pm Saturday. You might want to check it out for research purposes.
