I still fail to see why the figures are so low, just 338 signatures but I bet you on the positive side of things that more have signed that have complained to Ofcom about the babe channels, now this has been touched on before that Ofcom could simply just be sexiest as it's allready been pointed out the amount of uncensored penis's that have been allowed to be shown on mainstream television and that includes the MP's that are running this Country without Ofcom battering an eyelid. The laws need to change in this Country from the over intrusive media and the bullshit storys that are being reported in the tabloids on a daily basis to the over intrusive ways in which TV is regulated, the Government needs to realise that more important and pressing matters should be addressed and save hard working taxpayers a self appointed qaungo that offers no more than discrimination to anything it fails to understand or tolerate, opinion is one thing but putting your own personal judgements into practice is another, that's how fascist organisations are run and that was seemingly one of the things that we fought for during the last World War, there is absolutely no place for an organisation such as Ofcom in a modern democracy such as ours and all forms of censorship should be forbidden and let us use our own common sense instead, the only things that needs to be put in place is that all channels are put into the appropriate catagory's, which they are and all methods of parental control is also currently in place, the babe channels should be exempt especially to regulation, simple as that

scottishbloke I've just read the link you sent me, and i noticed that in december 2003 Ofcom took over, so it'll be 8yrs since they've been in power.
Do you no when the bidding will start for other Independent Regulators to bid for Ofcom? I'm not sure how the process works, but I'm sure like most Regulators, they often have a time scale before they're up for tender?

continental19 8 years is long enough, as far as anybody bidding to take over them, I hope not, I'd rather Television regulators were put to the sword, I hope that Ofcom are the last and are brought to their knee's soon, I don't want the bastards to be having anymore Birthday Parties, I'd happily go to their leaving party however and have Lucy Summers turn up to give them a send off in style with an oily naked pole dance and afterwords we could just turn Ofcom HQ into another Babe Channel studio rather than torch it seeing as it was us taxpayer's that helped pay for the building in the first place, come on folks FFS we need more signatures

Wholly agree with the amount of penise on tv and saturday night big bro on the side was taking the piss they had a chance to show 2 vaginas but the floor manager said it was decency not to braodcast this..WEll i went beserk, have written 2 more emails to channel 5 with still no reply so the last one threw a few swear words and accusasions so that should ruffle even the most calm person..Ofcom dont care under 10 complaints ..Right i have asked around and some folk think its illegal to show a vagina on tele,,i said what about a penis and they seem to think that was fine.That is what ofcom has installed in folks brains and the tv companys (ESPECIALLY CHANNEL5) that the vagina is taboo..I have got 2 mates to sign the petition today so whether they have yet i cant judge yet..

I dont want to watch dowton abbey or coronation street but i dont expect it to be made not broadcastable or go round telling folk that these programmes are bad and ofcom ban them..I allow folk to watch them and be broadcast so ofcom should let females do what they want on tv..I have noticed and get stressed that if a man gets his penis out or its for comic relief it allowed yet you never see one fanny lip which leads me to some points...

1)Ofcom do prewatch programmes that contain women and pixellate out any fannys and explore every frame to check for any errors because i have slomo and every angle is pixellated out or just black ..Even so called live shows where a fanny is about to come into view the camera angle is changed or cuts away all of a sudden so either the camera operators are physcic or its not live or delayed.In fact i am bloody positive because 100% of any upskirt shots or any fannys you never ever,ever,ever see one..How can this be that not one single fanny gets shown on UK tv by accident ever yet lots of penises do ??

2)the tv companys scrutinise every nude female shot so as to avoid camera going below waist or film from the back or fully pixellate out any fannys,,then they go through every frame to make sure spending hours doing so because of ofcom.Surley the folk working for these tv companys must think,"hey up whats going on here then all this work on ridding tv of a fanny and penises get the go ahead".

3)Some kind of expensive software is used with advanced fanny protection built in because out of all the years not one women has got away with showing their fanny because out pop the fucking cloud or heavy pixellation..Even upstairs in a nightclub on some channel 4 programme thing i could see this cloud on screen just up to left top of screen and a women was stood their and she must have had no knickers on so even in a dark nightclub that tv programme had been fully checked for any fanny right down to that part,fucking unbelievable...Yet just by the side of the women a man was waggling his penis and that was show,fucking pissed me off to high heaven..

I think what Ofcom fail to see is that these channels are not watched by sordid and depraved individuals addicted to porn but actually by every day normal functioning people of society, I was reading in one of the other threads about what is your real name and occupation and some of the forum members work in professions such as Lawyers, Doctors and Teachers which isn't the sterotypical perv which Ofcom painted those who watch the show's to be, further evidence that sex is normal as is watching porn and babe shows, as afterall if men weren't interested in looking at the opposite sex and women vice versas then they'd be something seriously wrong and the human population would simply cease to exist, so just to reiterate there is nothing harmful or dangerous about watching the babe channels and Ofcom needs to seriously reevaluate their conclusions

Well, we know they've managed, by and large, to successfully keep fannies off our TV screens.
