Yes interesting response there from Channel 5, if I remember correctly before the days before Ofcom came along this channel would screen documentries about the porn industry on a regular basis and had no problem showing the female form in all it's glory either, yes this is ridiculous now when you look at the old liberated ways of media we had under it's predessor ITC. Ofcom have ruled with an iron rod since the tail end of 2003 and have gradually grown bigger and stronger and have abused their power as time has gone on, I understand your anger ihatesexistofcom but I just don't think Ofcom will be around for much longer, they've pissed off far too many channels now and I strongly suspect that a revolution is in the air, as I've previously stated they'll be brought down more likely from one of the main stream channels as opposed to the Adult ones.

The last 2 emails i sent them were strong to initiate a reaction but heard nothing back..Even if the police came knocking on my door about threats that would be even better because newspapers love a scoop about any wrong doing..

I watch how they film things and is fully evident most documentrys made for channels read ofcom made up sexist rulebook..However i have been googling lots and come up with naffed of gamers who have female genatalia restricted in games whereas they show a penis..Their was a sex show on channel 5 using animation and the penis waa shown but when the women opened her legs it was pixellated,and thats a fucking animated cartoon..WHY have sexist ofcom made the vagina taboo they should be made to answer that..

Channel 4 state at the beginning of embarassing illneses that "Dont be afraid were all the same",,well not according to ofcom they say women are weird and have alien genatalia which could shock human beings..Now 2 things can come from this,,the lesbian and female community should be offended by this claiming girl power and have a go at ofcom AND doctors could ask ofcom why they show male genatalia but not female demanding a reason for their sexism when in biology we are equal,born equal and not responsible for what sex we are born...Ofcom are punishing women for being born with female genatalia...

For one thing, the programme makers can probably show penises if need be because they and Ofcom know that women viewers aren't going to mentally switch off from taking on board issues that trashy programmes like Generation Sex are trying to raise awareness of on the side in order to think about masturbating the minute a nude cock is shown on screen! To judge from the reply you received, they've correctly sussed that you, and a lot of frustrated blokes like you, are ony bothering to watch such programmes because tit and fanny shots might be included. Teenage alcohol problems and pregnancy rates and narrow-mindedness etc. in the UK relative to elsewhere in Europe is depressing stuff, and if an informative word can be snuck into a young adult show alongside the awful video diary-type stuff etc., then so be it. Good points HateSexist. It is discrimination and Ofcoms own surveys have said the same rules should apply to male and female geralds. But Ofcom dont play by the rules and the channels know it.

Rather than writing to the channels it might be better to find a campaigning newspaper prepared to take up cudgels. Unfortuately one is owned by the owner of Channel 5 and another is owned by the same people who own Sky.

They do things differently abroad.

They actually give serious answers to petitions which meet the threshold. It was just 5,000 votes but has been upped to 25,000, still much less than in the UK despite being a larger country.
