Several of my female colleagues, including managers and parents, went to see puppetry of the penis last week at our local theatre (it was a 2000 seater sell out) and one girl remarked on the double standards i.e. if the local council put on a female stripper show there would be massive outrage but seeing nude men playing with themselves on stage is fine. Same as those who say Chubby Brown swearing is vile but the Vagina Monologues is acceptable (it also sold out the same venue TWICE in a year btw)...None of these porn watchers are weird, wear flasher macs and hang around dogging sites and not as far as I know have committed any sex offences. However the great and good at Ofcon think rather than know they represent the majority of the adult population and until the majority tell them they are wrong will go along unabated. Opinions anyone??

you mentioned female strippers ,well i used to be a barman not so long back where male strippers were the norm every thursday and i can tell you this what they got up to with the most innocent looking girls was live porn compared to female strippers i have seen only for them to be shut down, oral and full on sex was the norm for these women and i never saw or heard of a raised eye brow ,double standards you may say but the simple fact is the likes of ofcom and the people who support it know they have the backing of the government as long as they catagorise female nudity as porn! and at the moment theres nothing we can do about it

Sorry to point it out, but there may be a connection here and equally might not be representative. I'm sure few of us are though, to be fair.

Is it double standards? Would you classify Puppetry of the Penis as pornography for example? Were your female colleagues going for sexual pleasure? If you had a 9 year old child come across it on TV how concerned would you be? How concerned would you be if the child came across an adult channel with the encryption unlocked by comparison?

It is an interesting example and I'm glad to see your point made (many thanks), but I dont fully agree with much of the prevailing opinion on this forum to utterly ridicule the Ofcom argument about 'context' and purpose making a difference.

But happily I will stop making the point as I would never be done making it here hehe.

RE: Ofcom Discussion
I don't no if anybody caught the programme of sexsetara which aired a few days ago, but there was a part in which 2 men were on stage pulling and manipulating there penis and testicles to make different shapes and goodness knows what else, all close up shots and as graphic as you like. And Ofcom says the more cocks the merrier, yet a woman's vagina getting pulled about on an Adult channel, well that's a whole different storey. My question is apart from the obvious, but what the F**KS the difference? If its ok for Ofcom to allow men to flop there cocks about on TV then whats the problem seeing a woman doing the same?? CLEARLY THE MAJORITY WHO WORK AT OFCOM ARE ALL GAY!!!

Shows like spartacus have graphic sex scenes on a regular tv show yet the babe shows are supposed to not show anything or have 2/1 incase kids watch? Absolutly stupid. Maybe incription is the way to go its still free but you type in a special code to see the shows then ofcom can't complain Smile

RE: Ofcom Discussion
I guess the only way forward for the babe channels to go if they want to show harder content will be to model themselves on babestation. In otherwords, to have 2 or 3 channels for normal free to air and then advertise a harder channel which you have to pay for on there freeview channel 96. REDLIGHT could easily do it, keep there 3 channels as they are now and advertise there harder encrypted channel, I think it would work out ok for them if they decided to try it out.

No the babestation route is not the way extreme is rubbish not worth paying for. We simply want a method for the shows to do what they want without having some stupid kill joys saying no to everything. The spirit of the shows is that they are free and should remain free.

I'm not arguing with you there, I agree with you the channels should remain free, I like you think that some form of encryption could be the way to go, so they can keep ofcom of there backs.

RE: Ofcom Discussion
I might be wrong here, but do you think there is some sort of hidden agenda for the reasons why Ofcom hate these channels so much? I don't no about anyone else, but I'm struggling to see the logic anymore, Ofcom say that if woman shows her vagina that it would do the whole nation unrepairable mental damage, ok maybe I'm overexaggerating a touch, but for someone to see a man flashing his cock all over the place then hey, Ofcom say that the mans penis won't cause any harm or cause any wide offence?? Answers on a postcard please, because I'm speechless.
