Claiming that female genitalia should be shown on TV so that viewers can be snide about size and appearance will bring about precisely no change at all (elementary rule of 'two wrongs'), plus it leaves you very much open to decontexualisation and spin (actually you wouldn't even have to spin this to make it sound bad; it already comes across as what it is: chauvinsistic tit-for-tat). You need to come up with a better reason for showing what you're asking for. I still say that if you want equality your best bet is to call for all explicit genital shots to be removed from shows like Big Brother and those Channel 5 'infotainment' sex shows (I haven't watched BB for several years; are there really as many cock shots appearing as you're suggesting?!).

Good point. Im all in favour of protecting kids during the day and early evening, but Ofcom are goig too far even with mainstream shows. A bit of raunch is NORMAL. By giving into Daily Mail facism they are doing the equivalent of putting kids inside germ free plastic bubbles like Michael Jackson instead of letting them inhabit the real world. What next? Strictly Celebrity Dancing censured for showing Tess Daly in strappy high heels and some birds thigh? Eastenders for showing people habitually in The Queen Vic (rule 1.10)? Harry Hills TV Burb for the violent scene where an angry Phil Mitchell smashes his way through multiple doors (rule 1.11)? Gay characters in Eastenders, Strictly etc (deeply offensive to Muslims, fundamental Christians, the elderly and others - rule 1.1 serious impairment of moral development in their opinion ). Dr Who and England football matches for causing distress (rule 1.7). Mulan (a girl poses as a man, a serious NoNo in some religions, rule 1.1 moral development, rule 1.3 scheduling?

What about Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, broadcast at 6:55 on Channel 5? Its cert 12, so it would be unsuitable for any kid under that age and its perfectly reasonable to expect them to be watching TV at 7pm on a Saturday. (Rule 1.7 distress). Also the bed scenes.

What follows that? NCIS at 8:55. Two sailors are found dead from a drugs overdose. Its a fair bet that the key points were conveyed in the first few minutes, before 9pm, so thats drug abuse (rule 1.10), violence (rule 1.11)

Worst of all, Carry On Up The Khyber is on Channel 4 Friday 18/11 at 1:25pm when lots of preschool kids plus any off sick will be watching. Littered with sexual references, innuendo and cleveage it is unsuitable for children in some parents opinions (rules 1.1 moral development, 1.3 scheduling, double entendres language rule 1.16 [Mummy whats Up The Khyber mean?], probable representations of inercourse rule 1.20).

Thats just a quick round up of this weeks viewing on the main 5 channels.

And dont even get me started on Two Mules For Sister Sara (5USA, Sun 12/11 6:40pm).Wink

A little bit of raunch is normal. If nothing else it helps kids learn how to deal with it when they are older. An overnight transition into the world of grown up TV when they are 15/16/18 would be too abrupt, but thats what Ofcom rules and actions would society do.

RE: Petition
If only Ofcom didnt have to stay up all night winking off to the babeshows, they might actually be able to get on with the real job of maintstream TV standards.

RE: Petition
It's such a shame that this petition has largely been ignored, a missed opportunity, why most forum members can't be arsed to take 5 minutes of their time to sign this is beyond me especially as a lot of them spend hours on hours on end posting about the shows, 374 now, it's going up but at a snails pace, theres really not much more you can say on this now, no point in getting angry about it anymore, you just cannot even with the best will in the world encourage enough people to sign it, looks like we're just going to have to keep faith that some day Ofcom are removed or cut the babe channels a bit of slack and allow them greater freedom than they do at present bladewave

RE: Petition
I think realistically most people (me included) first come on here to perv up the babes and see what caps/vids are available. It is a library to the babes we love to watch. Looking back you can see the difference in shows from even a year a go to now. Over gradual time it is hard to imagine those shows ever existed at all.
I think unless you get involved in the forum then the attention and time wanting to spend filling out a petition is deemed meaningless. It is unfortunate, but nothing we can do. Like I said previously it is a shame the guys who have been voting in the poll recently haven't jumped on board. Some were making their first posts after being signed up for several years.
Still we can't force people to do so. A bit of gentle persuasion but ultimately it is up to them. Some great points raised through out the whole 51 pages of this thread though.

RE: Petition
Dissapointing certainly, but here are the stats Admin produced on 9 Sept:
Total messages sent: 31,893
Unread after 14 days: 29,341 (92%)
PM read and deleted: 463 (1.45%)
PM read and retained: 2,089 (6.55%)

What that tells me is that 92% of forum members never read their PMs, and quite probably never even sign in after registering. Just 2,652 members actually read the PM and nearly 1/5 have signed up. Admittedly 4/5 havent, but thats not bad for a forum where everyone uses pseudonyms.

What is galling is the total, and I mean TOTAL lack of response from the channels. Not even indirect support via the babes or production crew whose lives are made difficult by Ofcom micromanagement.

Just to prove how unique we are as posters, this is a list of the people who joined the forum at the same time as me and most are still newbies and some haven't even activated their account yet Cool so that may go a long way into explaining why so few have even bothered to sign the petition.
