Sky Channels - No Reception/Picture/EPG Issues

hi guys,

wasnt sure where to post this so opted for the general forum, sorry if its the wrong place.

just wondered if anyone else who has got sky has trouble getting some of the 9** channels?

for some reason over the past couple of months the red light lounge channels, so i think thats 902, 911?, 948 , hardly ever work. Its as if the signal isnt strong enough, so i get abit of the music, which breaks up, and a blue screen, the picture sometimes comes on but it stutters and breaks up. its wierd, because its only these channels, all "normal" channels are fine.

any ideas?

It could be the weather so if there's a lot of wind or its raining really heavy it can cause the dish to move causing some of lower channels to disappear or picture to break up.

yep most likely the weather affecting the signal. the channels are fine where i am. think this should be in the tech zone section

Agree - it's weather related. If the problem persists after the weather improves your dish has probably blown slightly off line and you'll need to get the man with the ladder to reset it.

How are you going to explain to the TV man that you can't pick up the Red Light TV signal?

The dried up tissues all over the place might give it away

Just like mr williams says, it sounds like you're gonna have to get a tech guy out. I used to have this problem even when the weather wasn't that bad it still went funny & when it lashed it down there was no hope what so ever of me watching Sky although if it's only the one channel then it way be something to do with the reception in your area or your signal settings, maybe you could ask your next door neighbour if he can get the channel

My Sky box packed in earlier this year & when the guy came out to change it he checked all the signals & everything else to see what the problem could've been but the outcome was that my 10+ year old box (It wasn't HD or +) had just come to the end of it's shelf life, this could be a reason your box is starting to go, if you've had a none HD or Sky+ box for over 5 years it will start to become useless thats why pretty much everyone now has a Sky+ box.

I can see all channels on my sky tv
