well i'd like to claim that was all skill, but i guessed Prater and he won by DQ (i read the ufc paid both fighters win bonuses) so just a bit of luck involved
Aldo's celebration was one of the best bits just leg it out into the crowd and nearly cause a riot
one of the best bits from Dana Whites video blog is it shows the moment they tell Vitor, Johnson wasn't making weight. Lorenzo says he was close to making weight but the doctor told him he needed to rehydrate and recover after he started to lose feeling in his legs which is why he was so far off the limit.
Well the ufc seem to have gotten into a heavyweight fight of there own. ESPN aired a programme in American and i haven't seen it but it was apparently pretty negative about the ufc mainly aimed at fighter pay. Dana white posted there reply on the mma forum i use and they also posted the full 40 minute lorenzo fertitta interview on youtube .
Early last week, ESPN released a preview of an upcoming Outside the Lines segment, that charged the UFC pay structure was unfair. This was followed by an in-depth article by Josh Gross that criticized the UFC along similar lines.
The piece centered on interviews with the billionaire majority owner of the UFC Lorenzo Fertitta, and with UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock, who in a stupeyingly ironic turn, recently failed in a law suit to get a UFC contract and was ordered to pay the company $175,000 in court costs. The man ESPN put front and center to criticise UFC contracts actually sued to try to get one.
Gross has a long and contentious history with the organization, and UFC President Dana White responded by vowing to bring unseen footage from the Fertitta interview to the fans.

Zuffa Institutes Pre-Contract Drug Screening for Performance Enhancers
Zuffa in coordination with the UFC and Strikeforce have started a new policy of screening all incoming athletes for performance enhancing drugs prior to signing with one of the organizations.
The move is unprecedented in mixed martial arts, and Zuffa has committed to trying to weed out any athletes who are coming to their promotions under the influence of performance enhancing drugs.
“We’re committed to the health and safety of our athletes and we take it very seriously,” UFC Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta said. “We already work closely with athletic commissions to protect our athletes and now we’re taking it one step further. We’re going to test any potential UFC or Strikeforce fighter before finalizing their contract. This shows that we don’t want performance-enhancing drugs in our sport.”
All potential athletes who are set to be signed under contract to the UFC or Strikeforce will be required to complete the drug screening procedures.
The current athletes already on the roster will continue to be tested under the guidelines of the promotion and the athletic commissions that oversee the sport in each particular state or country.
“The health and safety of our athletes is our top priority,” UFC President Dana White said. “We’ve seen the issues performance-enhancing drugs have caused in other sports and we’re going to do everything we can to keep them out of the UFC and Strikeforce. Our athletes are already held to the highest testing standards in all sports by athletic commissions. Our new testing policy for performance-enhancing drugs only further shows how important it is to us to have our athletes competing on a level playing field.”
The news about the new drug screening policy comes at a particularly poignant time in MMA after two top fighters recently tested positive for steroids.
Strikeforce women’s featherweight champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos recently tested positive after her fight in Dec 2011 and was suspended for one year by the California State Athletic Commission.
Earlier on the day on Tuesday, former Strikeforce champion Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal also tested positive for steroids as revealed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Zuffa’s move is aimed at cutting down any incident of a fighter coming into the organization that could test positive for performance enhancing drugs.

Quote:Less than two weeks removed from the event, the UFC on Fox 2 fight card has undergone a major change. Chael Sonnen will now face Michael Bisping in the co-main event with Mark Munoz falling off the card due to injury.
UFC president Dana White announced the change Tuesday afternoon.
“Munoz is injured and out of the FOX fight!” White tweeted. “Now it’s Chael Sonnen vs Mike Bisping jan 28th and the winner will fight Anderson for the title.”
The UFC had been planning on the winner of Sonnen vs. Munoz to face Silva for the title, likely at a stadium-sized event in June in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The winner between Michael Bisping and Damian Maia, which was to be the third fight of a triple-header on Fox, would then be the next in line.
The change-up keeps Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis at the top of the UFC on Fox 2 fight card with Sonnen vs. Bisping as the co-headliner. UFC officials, however, at the time of publication, did not know what fight or if a third fight would be slotted into the mix on Fox.
Saying that all the shuffling had happened just prior to White releasing the information, the promotion had not yet determined a new opponent for Maia, or what other direction the card might take with Munoz’s absence, aside from pitting Sonnen vs. Bisping.
Both Sonnen and Bisping are known for their gift of gab, and it didn’t take long for the UFC to encourage Bisping and Sonnen to put their gifts on display.
“Chael Sonnen’s best weapon is his mouth, and that’s something that’s going to be absolutely useless in this fight,” he said via UFC’s official Twitter account. “I see a very bright future for Chael Sonnen as a used car salesman, very soon.”
That was followed by Sonnen’s retort. “I am going to knock the teeth out of this snot nosed Brit who calls himself royalty, who calls himself a Count. I am MMA royalty and America will tune into the Chael Sonnen show next Saturday on FOX.”
The verbal jabs between the two are likely to reach a fever pitch rather quickly.

It really should've been Chael Sonnen/Michael Bisping to begin with. I want Chael Sonnen to win because I want to see Anderson Silva/Chael Sonnen II.
After two years I've finally given myself an avatar and a signature as well! It's like a bus, you wait for one for ages and two come at once!
Great opportunity for Bisping. Would love him to win, but if there's one guy i can't imagine him beating it's Chael Sonnen? Could be a repeat of the Sonnen/Stann fight.... Anything can happen though?
Looks like Velasquez vs Bigfoot Silva isn't happening... Read a bit about it earlier. I think it could be Velasquez vs Carwin in the spring....You heard it here first

Glad Melvin Guillard lost, never liked him. Gullard has lost six times in the UFC by chokes.
