why do people watch pop idol?

they know the show is just a 4 month advert for the christmas number one. they also know cowell will own whoever wins and anyone else that he thinks will make him a fortune. so why do people watch this mind numbing piece of shit?

the winners song video will at a rough guess have the 'emotional memories' through their journey from being a nobody to becoming a nobody with a short lived music contract. these scenes will include at least one case of tears (BOO FUCKING HOO) shots of the judges doing that thing where they are so blown away by a singer that their jaw actually drops. there will be slow motion and probably black and white shots from the show because thats very emotional dontcha know. it will be filmed for a tiny amount of money and more than likely be set on a stage because they are singing for us (HOW LUCKY ARE WE?)

i only watch the start so i can see all the weirdos and the people that think their amazing but in fact are shit

I've got to admit I don't like the shows but love or loathe him you've got to admit Cowell has brought fresh talent to the scene. Admittedly pop talent - some good, some bad, but it's better than not getting any fresh talent at all. Besides, it then frees up the proper contracts for newer artists that have worked hard for studio time
