Which PVR?
Hi all, hopefully you guys can help me decide which PVR (or DTR as they seem to be called now) I should buy. Currently I have an old Sagem 20GB PVR, but the HDD is nearly full and the remote is starting to play up. Therefore i think it is time to upgrade.
I would like to be able to contribute more to this forum, in the way of videos/captures and now that all the Cellcast channels are on Freeview, a twin tuner (record two channels at once) PVR with USB seems the ideal choice. HDMI upscaling would be nice, but not essential. I'm looking to spend no more than £150, but can go a bit higher if there are any strong recommendations.
From the research that I've done, Humax and Topfield seem to be the makes of choice. However the newer Humax boxes don't have active USB ports and the Topfields are a bit on the expensive side.
Those of you that have PVR's and upload content here, can I ask which models you have and how you transfer content to your PC?
I've seen the Sagem DTR67250T at Argos for £139.99 and it appears to do everything I need, but reliability could be an issue. Has anyone got one of these and if so what are your opinions?
Lastly, am I correct in thinking there are no PVR's that record from an external source? I have a standard Sky box in my room, but think it's easier/cheaper to get a PVR than upgrade to SKY+. I've considered buying a DVD Recorder/HDD recorder but believe they can only record one channel at a time.
Any suggestions/opinions would be much appreciated.
