i have always been overly romantic about the role of the england captaincy... or even playing for england... its not just enough to be a good player or a great player..there are plenty of them around...you have to be of a greater character... after all you are the role model for a generation of kids... so its not good enough to say that he behaved like any other bloke.He is just any other bloke and never deserved the honour of leading our national team.

On a more serious note, i dont think what he does off the pitch with another players wife should have any bearing on whether or not he plays for England or not...having said that I think as captain of England I do feel the players need to be able to trust him, that im afraid might not be possible.
