I think it might be the best thing so that he can get fit for Wimbledon. Lucky for him it was a strain and not a tear.

He got a wildcard into the Gijon Open (!) and battled through to lose a decider in the quarter-finals.

Good news: Andy Murray is through to the Qatar Open final on the ATP Tour after a string of hard fought encounters to get there Smile.

Bad news: It's Daniil Medvedev in the final Sad.

And predictably enough Medvedev won 6-4 6-4 Sad.

He's only gone and won his first singles title since 2019, beating Tommy Paul in the final, and rising to the top 50 in the rankings.

Whilst the world was enticed by the gaudy baubles at the French Open, Andy was winning the prestigious Surbiton Trophy in straight sets, his first grass-court UK-located title since 2016.

I see above he made the semi-finals last year, so this is progress all round.
