You saved me the trouble of writing out a squad, because i agree with nearly all of those.

Apart from: Calamity James for Foster (yeah i know that he can be a nightmare, but no more so than Foster. Plus there's a distinct lack of experience in your goalkeeping trio)

But you don't need to try and justify Neville, if anybody's bought himself a seat on the plane in the last few weeks, it's definitely him.

(and that's from a Chelsea fan, who really doesn't like Utd very much )

To be honest i'm not even convinced by my goalkeepers - I think we've been going round in circles for the past few years trying to find the right one and none are really that much better than the others particularly in an england shirt where everyone we've tried has had an off day.

Neither am i, the scary truth is that we just don't have a standout keeper right now.

The very fact that "Calamity" despite his age (and his all too frequent howlers) is still in the frame for the job is more of an indictment on the others rather than any kind of testament to his own ability.

I think you could put all the names of english goalkeepers from the top two divisions in a hat, draw three out and you would have a job on arguing that they were any better than the next three you drew out. What I wouldn't give for shay given, friedel or even schwarzer.

Is Cudicini qualified to play for England. If he saved a penalty to get us through a tough match you wouldn't give a toss that he was Italian.

I seem to remember that he is now and, to be honest, I wouldn't care if whoever it was was a martian if they saved a penalty.

Ill argue that joe hart in our stand out keeper bur he hasn't been blooded yet. They should have given him some games when the could. He can save penalties as can green.

David James must be in goal. How can anyone trust Green in goal is beyond me never looks comfortable wearing the England shirt very over rated by Fabio. I know your probably screaming well James isn't exactly consistent can make a few howlers yes we know that but on his day he can be unbeatable and make some amazing world class saves

Alright even though i am irish, i still hope they do well, heres the team i would pick.

Goalkeepers: Hart, Green, Robinson

Defenders: Johnson,Ferdinand,Jagielka,Upson,Terry,Shawcross,Baines

Midfielders: Bentley,Gerrard,Lampard,Barry,Carrick,Young,Etherington,Cole,

Strikers: Rooney,Defoe,Crouch,Bent,Zamora

I thought long and hard about this lol.
A. cole would not be in my squad cause i dont like the fool
Im not a Terry fan either but he is a good player
As for my choices: i think Jagielka, Etherington and Zamora have all had a great season and deserve a chance in the world cup squad.
Its a pity that Beckham was injured aswell. He would have been in my squad if he was fit.

Are u serious? His nickname is calamity james and he's 40 and had the worst season of his career and has let in more goals than any other english keeper. I swear some people don't think before they post. Its a bit of a non-argument for me so I'm not commenting any further.
