As for HTML 5. Yeah, the way forward...
I can see everyone recoding for that when Flash already has market penetration. HTML 5 might indeed be a possible future, but I don't see it becoming widespread overnight as developers code for their clients. Whilst older browsers still have a fair proportion of that market they aren't going to change the way they work just for the sake of it. Besides Flash is still more capable and versatile and, for the likes of the media companies capable of secure DRM. HTML 5 does give alternative ways of doing a few things Flash does, but it is hardly a complete replacement. Next somebody will be trying to tell me Photoshop is obsolete as it is only changing the colour of pixels and any paint package which is less resource hungry can do that. Come live in the real world where time costs money
I stand by my statement. Apple are just running the iPhone on it's own hype. The original was a leap forward but the other vendors have closed that gap now and the iPhone is no longer the only choice. Add that to the way Apple controls its users like sheep with the store by dictating what is allowed and I'm sorry but I just don't buy into it
For those that like totalitarianism and a nanny state then you'll enjoy the Apple iPhone. I on the other hand prefer to be treated as an adult, be kept informed and allowed to choose for myself if I want to do or buy something
firstly, you moan about apple being all proprietory, but then go on to say how great flash is, but flash in its self is proprietory too, being as its owned by adobe, whereas HTML5 is an open platform tech.
i'm not saying HTML5 will take over overnight, but saying sites won't recode is just preposterous, sites have already started using HTML5 already, and that'll just continue as HTML5 picks up. plus as i said, Flash is proprietory and you have to pay to make stuff with it, HTML5 is free for all, business sense will also help prevail for that...
iphone OS4 does multitasking better than other phones from what i've seen and at less cost to battery life, are you saying thats not a leap forward? plus the way this OS upgrade
the app store is a good thing, it means you are gettin apps that aren't virus filled or gonna break your phone, its good to have that regulation, there's tons of apps in there to choose from so i can buy what i want in there, i'm not being told i have to use specific apps in the app store, so there's choice there, which i am allowed to choose for myself....
