I cant understand why Capello did not at least give all thrity players a half at the friendlys. How on earth were Dawson and Parker going to prove their worth before he cut the squad down to the last 23?
These are professional footballers giving up their time. It is an absolute disgrace to treat people like this.

Especially when parker and dawson are 2 fantastic players

It doesn't justify as you rightly say they should have been treated fairly, but I think he'd made his mind up before he named the thirty - which means it was a complete waste of time playing two meaningless friendlies.

No, he hadn't made up his mind.

That's why Baines played in both warm up games, but Warnock got selected instead. Carrick would also have got pushed out due to poor form recently, but Huddlestone had chances in both warm up games and didn't take them. Leaving out Walcott was also a late decision, made after the warm up games in which he failed to impress. If Walcott had done well in the warm up games he'd have made the squad.

As for setter1000 whining about players not being given a chance, the simple fact is that some players were only ever in the 30 as cover for injuries, as Cappello said himself. There was no point in giving someone like Dawson playing time if he was only covering for any injury to one of the other centre backs.

This is definitely a huge blow to our preparations and one we didn't need ffs. I for one was not a RIO fan due to his lack of games last season.

But saying that there is know doubt if RIO was on his a game he can be unbeatable and the way he had been talking of late i thought he was mentally ready to give his all but up strikes fucking Heskey of all players.

Who are we going with Carra or King tough call i think id go with Ledly my self. N with Rio out there ain't much pace at the back with Terry n Carra/King god its going horribly wrong yet again

Im hoping the Captain arm band might bring out the Steven Gerard of Liverpool the passion and fight leadership we can only hope he rises to the challenge and doesn't just fold

Huge blow? Why is everyone such a prophet of doom? Ferdinand has hardly played this season and has not looked in good nick at all in his last few England games. King might come in and play really well. This could be the lucky break that England need.
