Are these REAL complaints from people happening upon the channels, or are these complaints from Offcom employees who are reporting back on anything naughty they see? It sounds like the latter to me.

More than likely it's Ofcom insiders or channel rivals, but then again you should never underestimate the British publics ability to complain about anything and everything.

It really wouldn't hurt for the Audit Commission or the Competition Commission to carry out an independent study into how many complaints over the past 3 years have been from genuine "disinterested" parties, eg members of the public, and how many have come from competitors.

Go over the original complaints and try contacting the complainants. Can they be contacted at the address given? Is it a genuine address? Is there a record for someone with that name living at that address when the complaint was made? Who did all the inhabitants work for? Is there any proof that they had kids?

Then reject the entire system as misuse of Government resources for commercial gain and disproportionately punative.

Elite Days Elite TV 31 March 2010 31 March 2010

Elite TV was found in breach for the above day show, shown on 31 March 2010.

"A viewer was concerned that during this daytime output the presenter was shown continually thrusting her body and mimicking sexual intercourse and this was inappropriate for the time of transmission.

Ofcom viewed the material broadcast between 15:00 and 16:00 and noted that the presenter was wearing a skimpy gold lam thong swim suit. During the broadcast she was shown sitting on a sofa facing the camera and lying on her side. While in these positions the presenter spread her legs wide apart for prolonged periods of time and she repeatedly gyrated her pelvis."

"In Ofcoms view the material shown in this broadcast was clearly unsuitable for children. We do not agree with the broadcasters view that this was equivalent to looking at any woman in a bikini, lingerie or fully clothed. During this broadcast the female presenter, who was wearing very skimpy clothing, was shown on a sofa in sexually suggestive poses for prolonged periods of time. In particular, she was shown sitting down facing the camera and lying on her side, and in both positions she had her legs wide apart."

Oh well. So, if you want to really enjoy having a daytime wank, then I guess we'll all have to develop a foot fetish. Wink

RE: Ofcom - Current Investigations
What i want to find out in all of this is why was the viewer watching in the first place to be offended if they were not interested in the material??
This smells of a rat to me and again may be a rival channel trying to get another into trouble with ofcom.
Im sick to death of this shower of complete buffons at ofcon and the sooner were rid of this non fit for purpose bunch who quite frankly are a total waste of taxpayers money then so much the better.annoyedannoyedannoyed
