RIP Dennis Hopper

HOLLYWOOD legend Dennis Hopper has died aged 74.

The hard-living screen icon, who directed and starred in 1969 cult classic Easy Rider, had been battling prostate cancer.

He died from complications of the disease at home in Venice, California, surrounded by family and friends this afternoon.

Hopper, who starred in a host of classic movies including Apocalypse Now, Blue Velvet, Rebel Without a Cause and True Romance among others will be greatly missed.

Very underrated actor who appeared in quite a few of my favorite films

He was brilliant in Easy Rider

It was the best cult film of the late 60's, early 70's

Massive loss to the cinematic world.

Always rated him after i saw Easy Rider. Sad loss, he will be missed. R.I.P.

This is extremely sad news, and a loss that leaves a huge whole in the world of cinema and showbiz.

I loved his performances in films such as Blue Velvet, Speed and a role in the first season of 24. As a big fan of film and television, I can honestly say I'm upset now...

RIP Dennis Hopper.

He was simply terrifying in Blue Velvet. A real loss.
