Daytime nudity - blatant double standards

Not sure where I should have put this, so I've put it here.

The other day I happended across a French film on TVMONDE (channel 799). It had a young naked lady stood in front of a wash basin. She wet the cloth, slid it across her breasts, down her belly and cupped her pussy area with both hands - clearly simulating maturbation. A few moments later a naked man stood in a tin bath with his back to camera, while the same girl began drying him. She knelt down and could be seen drying his groin area, taking great delight in the view she was getting. And what time did this go out? 1.05 in the afternoon.

So here we have nudity AND in a sexual context, airing on a fta channel in the middle of the afternoon.

Let me just get this straight...

You are right of course, it is a double standard. Worse than the babe channels, as viewers who were unaware of the film would have no idea to expect that type of content. Anyone of any age could have been watching, without any warning given about nudity, sexual content. After all, you would never expect that during a daytime transmission. I can only assume that French programming is subject to similar restrictions during the day that we are.

On the other hand, if you switch on daytime babes it is obvious that some will be in bikinis, lingerie, etc.

Damn I don't get that channel.

Not double standards at all, it's justified by context. It's French.

When I used to watch frog TV regularly I found it incredibly frustrating that they seemed to have no time sense. They would quite happily have near naked dancing girls on a Sunday moring family quiz show, and sod all in the evening except discussion shows and farming. And few regular nookie slots, mostly just random. Came to the conclusion that the part of the brain that tells us what time it is and what we should be doing is misssing from French DNA, but what do you expect from people who confuse the nearest wall with a lavatory, and spent 500 years in the mistaken belief that they ruled the UK, and now think that Europe is run for their benefit (better stop before I get told off).

By the way, TVMode is the French Government-run channel to showcase "best of" French state TV to their colonies. So anything you see on it is ultimately approved by Pres Sarcozy and his wife Carla Bruni. She's not very well known in the UK, so here are a few pictures to jog memories.

I don't see how. Unless Ofcom have started requiring pre-approval of all material before it's broadcast they're probably entirely unaware of it.

Just as AstonV mentioned is that in France that nudity in films is classed as 'Art'.
Maybe the babeshows should try and run a daytime show with an art class setting.
