Subscribing To Forum Threads
I've noticed a few members making posts that say little more than they're posting in order to subscribe to a thread.

But...you don't need to make a post to do this. At the bottom left of every thread page, there's a clickable "Subscribe to this thread" link.

RE: Subscribing To Forum Threads
I have subscribed to quite a few threads, but every now and then one of them will "unsubscribe" itself..... Huh
Is there a limit to how many you can subscribe to?
Do subscriptions expire after a time?
Thanks Smile

This is just a total guess, but maybe when threads get merged it causes a subscription to expire?

Well, the one that keeps unsubscribing is the "who's on Babestation or Partyland tonight?" thread, I don't know if that's merged with another thread?
The thread began before I joined, so I didn't subscribe to the old "who's on" thread....
I think it happened once with the "Babetation review thread" too....
...Maybe someone's trying to tell me something? laugh

RE: Subscribing To Forum Threads
No, they shouldn't expire after a certain period of time. When a thread is merged, the subscription will transfer to the new thread.

There are a few reasons why subscriptions could be lost:
- If the majority of posts are split out of a thread into a new one, and the remaining posts, including the first post, are deleted - this is very unlikely to happen though, particulary with a large or established thread.
- A moderator error would could also cause a subscription to be lost - I can think of three large threads where moderator cock-ups have caused this to happen (two of them my fault).
- Deleted threads
- When a thread's moved to a section to which you don't have access - such as a fanzone or members only area. I've just run a test, and once such a thread is returned to the open forum, the subscription doesn't return. So in a similar manner, I'm guessing that even once you gain access to the relevant members area where a thread has been moved to, the subscription won't automatically return.

I doubt that there's a limit on the number you can subscribe to. I've just subscribed to 70+ threads, and I'm sure the numer you can subscribe to is much larger than this.

i dunno why you bother subscribing, all it does is fill up yer email with reminders...
fair enough if its not a popular thread, but the likes of danica chat will easily net you 50 emails on a night she's on...

best just to remember where you posted last or use the user_cp or new posts since last visit...
it saves on deleting tones of emails.

Any Babe pics posted are my Take on existing photographs. credits for the original images stays with the copyright holder if any rights apply.

I totally agree.
A long time ago, I started getting emails after accidentilly subscribing to a thread.
It took me a while to find out how to stop them. Never subscribed to any since then.

When you subscribe to a thread, you're prompted to state whether you wish to receive emails notifications or not. If you choose not to, then you can simply view your forum subscriptions here. It enables someone to see what new posts have been made in the threads that interest them, rather than having to look through all 32 forum sections (plus subsections), or through 10 pages worth of 'posts since last visit' - which can be useful for a light forum user.
