Ant-Man and The Wasp

Saw the film on Tuesday and really enjoyed, if liked the first film it’s pretty much more of the same. Paul Rudd was a perfect choice as the lead character, Michael Douglas was great a doing comedy in the film along with Michael Pena who was funny as fuck in the movie. Evangeline Lily was great too as Hope Pym and as Wasp kicking ass in the movie. Walton Goggins, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hannah John-Kamen, Laurence Fishburne were all great.
What really worked with the movie was humour it generally was funny and not forced which felt Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2 and Thor: Ragnarok were. The special were really good especially when they used the effects to make certain characters. All there is more then one villain in the movie when you find out the back story for one of them you kinda understand why there doing it even if it’s for the wrong reasons.
The negatives I found were it seemed like they were tying to push The Wasp character as the lead, all tho there are two villains in the film your not gonna remember them or feel they were threating. You can clearly tell there was supposed to be more romance between Scott and Hope just felt like that was cut out. The ending isn’t very climatic and there’s a scene with the Walton Goggins character to who ever his talking too but you never find out who and the reason why Scott wasn’t in Infinity War was a bit lame and I think Marvel/Disney need to change up there films a little as there becoming the same I know they have a winning formula but needs something different.
Now the two post credit scenes the first one is really good and suits it up something which you can work out, the second one was lame and is the very end of the credits so can skip that and not miss it if wanna stay all the way the credits personally I would have swapped the two post credit scenes around. Watch out for the serum running gag in the film which again very funny and doesn’t over stay it’s welcome and the second funny scene is at the end with Scott and the FBI agent. All in all a enjoyable film and getting a reply from the director Peyton Reed was a nice adddd bonus.

7.7/10.

Black Water(2007)

An Australian horror about a group of young friends who impeach on the territory of an aggressive crocodile whilst boating through the wetlands.By the numbers in terms of plot but the relatively unknown cast are excellent in conveying believable fear as their numbers dwindle, the photapraphy of the stunning yet primaeval location also adds a sense of foreboding to the experience throughout.

The Warriors (1979)

Crime thriller directed by Walter Hill, starring Michael Beck & James Remar.
Cyrus, the messianic leader of the Grammercy Riffs, calls for a truce among all the gangs in New York City and asks them all to meet. During the meeting Cyrus proposes that all the gangs unite to form one super gang so that they can take over the city. Unfortunately, as he is addressing the various gangs, he is shot by Luther, the homicidal leader of a gang known as the Rogues. Luther then accuses Cleon, the leader of the Warriors, as the assassin and is killed by the other gangs. However, the rest of the Warriors escape, but now they have a price on their head and the rest of the gangs hunt for them as they try to make their way back to their home in Coney Island.

CIA operative James Silva leads a small but lethal paramilitary team on an urgent and dangerous mission. They must transport a foreign intelligence asset from an American embassy in Southeast Asia to an airfield for extraction -- a distance of 22 miles. Silva and the soldiers soon find themselves in a race against time as the city's military, police and street gangs close in to reclaim the asset.

Eye In The Sky (2015) starring Helen Mirren and Alan Rickman

A film about using Drone warfare to eliminate a terrorist cell in Kenya.
There's very little actual action. The focus is on the surveillance technology and high level command of the operation. Don't be put off by that, though. The film is absolutely gripping from start to end.

The film is dedicated to Rickman and his final scene where his character delivers a withering putdown to a self-righteous Government Minister in the Cobra room is a fitting epitaph.

The Equalizer

Directed by Antonia Fuqua who directed one of my fav films Training Day, Fuqua vision on this film fantastic and beautifully shot too. Based of course on the tv series which I used to love watching. Denzel Washington one of my fav actors and one best actors in Hollywood is fantastic as Robert McCall, he doesn’t talk much but wow a man of action and his brutal How this got a 15 cert I will never know. Not only is Denzel acting great but it’s acting with his face when his not saying anything. The death scenes in this film are not only brutal, graphic, bloody and violent but never seen so many inventive ways of killing someone. The rest of cast were great Chloë Grace Moretz, Marton Csokas, David Habour, Bill Pullman, Melissa Leo. The blu ray steel book is beautiful gloss finish and the film looks fantastic on blu ray. Hopeful seeing the sequel later today fingers crossed.

The Bad Seed(1956)

Mervyn LeRoy directed this big screen adaptation of the hit Broadway play that was actually based on William March's novel.Starring Patty McCormack, unforgettable as evil kilker child Rhoda Penmark who takes pleasure in mentally torturing her unfortunate mother played exceptionally well by Nancy Kelly. In the book and onstage the hero mother dies but due to The Hays Code which censored Hollywood productions at the time, the ending was altered so that the mother is saved and the girl is struck by lightning.

The Equalizer 2

The sequel to the 2014 movie and I really enjoyed Denzel Washington as Robert McCall dishing justice as he knows how and mean it’s totally brutal what he does like the first film again the guy acts by saying nothing and not even moving this how good as a actor Denzel is.
The film more or less like the first but difference in being there’s a lot more emotional driven moments during the film which i won’t give away but you’ll know when you see it. It opens up more on McCall past but not too much still leaving a lot of it as a mystery which I like especially in the very first movie isn’t a spoiler as to why he faked his death again that’s a mystery and a very intriguing one at that. You see McCall as mentor to young kid and the advice he gives was powerful and moving there’s a particular scene with McCall and young kid and a gun and it’s very powerful.
McCall wants revenge on what happens to a close friend and he dished out vengeance as he knows how very brutal and nasty. There’s a few scenes of violence where it’s uncomfortable but necessary which works with the film. I thought villain who I won’t spoil was good but I did prefer the villain in the first film if am being honest. Really hope they do a third movie considering we got a sequel which Denzel doesn’t do sequels so fingers crossed and in places it’s very funny.

Batman (1989)

Saw this was on Sky Movies Horror today and had to watch again. A gloriously gothic take on Gotham's Dark Knight. Michael Keaton is very good in the title role and is upstaged by Jack Nicholson's hilarious but homicidal Joker. Tim Burton directs in his unique style and gives us a nice trip down memory lane. It was a very enjoyable reminder of my early experiences of Batman in film. 4/5
