Mortal Kombat

Still the best video game to live action movie, Street Fighter 2 The Animated movie still the best overall video film all tho it’s animated. What I do like about the film is the martial arts is good, the video game moves some properly and who could forget the music was really good. Downside the special effects not aged well all tho the movie looks good on blu ray. As for the sequel afford it’s terrble.

7.5/10

It Follows(2014)

An intelligent horror/mystery written and directed by David Robert Mitchell starring Maika Monroe, superb as teenager Jay who after a sexual encounter realises y she is being pursued by a supernatural force that intends to kill her.An obvious parable about sexually transmitted infections and the posaivke dangers of unprotected sex but also a look at the fear of nightmares and human mortality.

A college student, who sees a UFO, uses his exceptional math skills to investigate the sighting with his friends while the FBI follows closely behind.
If your looking for big budget special effects this may not be for you,but for me this was a good watch!

Sweet County(2018)

Set in the outback during the 1920s,this is basically a western that explores the dark side of Australian history as Aboriginal farmer Sam,goes on the run after killing a white racist in self defence whilst being hunted down by a determined police sergeant.Breath taking photography and a really layered look at past attitudes that have influenced modern society. With excellent performances from Hamilton Morris and the always watchable Bryan Brown.

Final Score (2018)

Starring Dave Bautista , Lara Peake, Amit Shah & Pierce Brosnan.

An enjoyable die hard style shoot em up
Which was a lot better than I expected.
It's pure fantasy in places though, West Ham in a European semi final ! Unbelievable.

Young Han Solo finds adventure when he joins a gang of galactic smugglers, including a 196-year-old Wookie named Chewbacca. Indebted to the gangster Dryden Vos, the crew devises a daring plan to travel to the mining planet Kessel to steal a batch of valuable coaxium. In need of a fast ship, Solo meets Lando Calrissian, the suave owner of the perfect vessel for the dangerous mission -- the Millennium Falcon.
Not a bad watch 8/10

After finding a laptop, a young man goes online to play a game with five of his good friends. He shows them a mysterious folder that plays disturbing videos of people who appear to be in danger. They then receive an anonymous message that tells them they will all die if they disconnect or call the police. The planned night of fun quickly turns deadly as each user becomes the target of something sinister while the others watch helplessly in terror.
Wow...this sh#t is messed up (decent 4 A horror)

Predator

Classic film, the original and still the best film in the franchise. I have the first two films as beautiful blu ray steelbook. As for the new Predator film review possible next week.

9.6/10.

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home. The universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and an evolutionary biologist can prevent the end of the human race.
Not bad...but still no where near a patch on the original...."Hey Dillon"

Solo - A Star Wars story

Oh dear.
The troubled journey to the screen this project endured really shows in the finished product, with a disjointed feel to the piece that bears the hallmark of a film of two different stylistic parts edited together. The story has no feeling of building to a satisfying conclusion, instead moving from one set piece to another in a rather stilted fashion that smacks of script revisions and rewrites that then left ineffective gaps between such pieces that were cobbled together to link them.
Performances are Ok but nothing outstanding, and the VFX are to the standard one expects from ILM, but it does not save the end result. The score is quite "low" in the sound mix but there are enough harkbacks to classic SW themes to please most fanboys.
When compared to Rogue One (which in itself was plagued with reshoots, rewrites and a rumoured completely new ending) this is a far lesser piece that ultimately left me with no connection to the characters and a distinct "meh" reaction, despite being a SW fan and wanting to like it.

The Predator

The 6th film in the predator franchise and it's very good. Nowhere near as bad as a lot of reviews say it is. Very good special effects & like the other films in the franchise it's very violent, bloody & very gory. Some funny one liners that will make you laugh.

Plenty of easter eggs throughout that tie it in to the previous films in the predator franchise (including the 2 AVP films)

8/10
