Wayne Rooney - Now Not Leaving Man Utd

Sir Alex Ferguson has today confirmed ( in an uncharacteristically dejected interview ) that Wayne Rooney has refused to sign a new contract and has stated that he intends to leave Manchester United.

As a life long United fan, I have to admit that this is arguably the darkest day of the Ferguson era.

I feel Wayne has shown a complete lack of respect to a club that has stuck by him through thick and thin. He has developed from a youth of raw potential to a world class player during has time at Old Trafford. He has now decided to turn his back on his team and fans the world over.

I am aware that a large part of the blame rests with the Glazers. Uniteds crippling lack of spending power (that a few league title and a Champions League managed to conceal) is now clear for all to see.

I have a great deal of sympathy for Ferguson, who has spent almost 25 years at the helm of Man U, only to see his empire crumble now.

Money really does talk. He'll be off to Man City then.

i too have some sympathy for fergie, although i have far more sympathy for his wife having to live with whiskey nose.

He should really look at the long list who's left and gone on to be successful (it's tiny)

That's a bit exaggerated. Rooney had been an England player for 18 months before he ever played for Man Utd.

Anyway, you can join the Everton suppoorters in moaning about Rooney having the cheek to leave the club.

Does he really want to leave or is he just after more money to re-sign

Can't see it myself Chilly,I think Chelski will break the bank for him,they've got an aging strike force and Ancelotti has already said he wants him if he leaves. Also think Rooney and his missus will want a fresh start somewhere new!

I personally can see him on the way to Madrid. He'll earn the money he thinks he deserves, his family get to start fresh out there too. And he will be around a bunch of twats like himself. Although I would like him to come to Barca : )

Unfortunately Colleen doesn’t want to move far from her family in Liverpool so I believe the options may be limited to a move to Manchetser

i cant say i blame him, how the hell can anyone expect this poor guy to live on £100k a week, its bloody ridiculous! i mean that might be ok for someone who is unemployed or something but not someone who is currently employed as a bench warmer!
