RE: Ofcom's next target
Whilst their shows may have been tame compared to other broadcasters they still attracted complaints against their daytime shows. Up to seven complaints have been investigated in the last five months by Ofc@m and all found 'Not in Breach'. Whilst you might think this would be the end of the matter, it would not prevent the regulator reminding the broadcaster about suitability of clothing, positions etc when advising them of the finding.
We know by experience how overzealous this regulator is against these channels.

I think most, if not all, are being closely monitored by Ofcom and are at some sort of investigation stage at the moment. The one channel that should be under investigation but are apparently out of Ofcoms jurisdiction, is Babestation because of all the bullshit scams that are going off at the moment.

It should not please any forum member to hear yet again that the regulator is investigating a babe channel irrespective of the operator or licensee.
Within the last six months this regulator has already revoked four licenses held by Bang Media and also the licence for Live 960 held by Hoppr Entertainment Ltd. We should not be heralding yet more investigations knowing that the regulator is targeting this genre of channels.
The regulator has already imposed severe restrictions on the channels that postbox them in the 900 section of the Sky EPG, pushed back topless performances to 10pm with no full nudity till 11pm and even then further restricting channels when they become inventive whilst working within these restrictions.
It is even more restrictive on the Freeview platform where babe channels cannot start until midnight, unless you have an oversea's licence when you can start anytime you like, currently Babestation transmit at 10pm.
Babe channel operators on the Freeview platform should now formally make representation to the Media Minister to complain about this restraint of trade that is discriminatory. Ofc@m have no evidence to support this severe timing restriction other than stating a cautionary approach due to the 'limited' number of channels on the platform.
Ofc@m should either provide evidence of harm or allow these channels to operate within the BCAP code and concerntrate on the programmes that attract the greatest level of complaints.
I don't know if anyone else saw the Lady Gaga interview at 10.30 this morning on Channel Four where she was wearing a black c-thru top with only plasters covering her nipples. A costume she has worn before in her videos but yet again double standards being applied especially when this show would have attracted children.

I was being ironic.sorry I know this is a serious subject & anyone who knows me will tell you I'm a non-conformist & against any form of censorship. The end game here will be either death of Babe Channels or at the very least an even more diluted version of what we have at present.Even now I find the site of a finely turned Chipendale chair leg on Antiques Roadshow more arousing than some of the tame shows.A case of wood giving me wood !

To me it is obvious; Ofcon want to get sex off the TV and on to the internet.

I think it's more of a case of Ofcom just wanting to get rid of the Adult Channels due to the fact that nudity on mainstream tv seems to be okay but not on the babechannels and with all the fines generally coming out of the babechannels pocket for minor slips and flashes is just proof that Ofcom is being discriminatory towards the babechannels.
Ofcom just do us all a favour and get the fuck off the babechannels back. Me and my mates have not fought for this country against Al-Queda and the Taliban, just to have some other organisation telling what we can and can not view at home.

In Ofcon's world, nudity is acceptable in mainstream films; the middle & upper classes can debate the finer points of Von Trier, Russell or some other pseudo-intellectual.

Porn, on the other hand, is consumed mainly by the working classes and is, therefore, too dangerous to be allowed to be viewed.

Look at the fight to get full explicit sex sold on video in the UK. They did everything to stop it.

They still restrict its supply, fearing that by making it freely available like most other western democracies, it will lead to mass orgies and debauchery throughout the land. ( I haven't even ventured into the discussion about homosexual porn)!!

Ofcon's broadcasting code has done absoluely sweet jack shit to improve quality of life in the UK.
