Primetime press release:

Quote:Primetime The UK Home Of Strikeforce

On March 5th Strikeforce returns to Primetime, live from Columbus, Ohio with a World Championship doubleheader. Marloes “Rumina’’ Coenen (18-4) of the Netherlands will risk her welterweight title for a first time against 135-pound contender, Liz “Girl-Rilla’’ Carmouche (6-0). A 25-year-old of Lebanese descent, Carmouche was born in Okinawa, Japan, and currently resides in San Diego, she spent seven years in the Marines during which she toured The Middle East. Carmouche trains at Undisputed Fitness and Training in San Diego with Manolo Hernandez and Baret Yoshida, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion.

Marloes Coenen, a talented, 5-foot-9, 28-year-old from the Netherlands, is a strikingly attractive submission artist. Coenen impressively avenged a split-decision loss to Roxanne Modaferri by winning by 1:05, first-round submission (armbar) last Nov. 7, before challenging Cris Cyborg for the Strikeforce Women’s 145-pound title. Marloes then dropped to welterweight, a more natural weigh class for her, and won the 135-pound title from the then-undefeated Sarah Kaufman.

This highly anticipated event will also feature the Light Heavyweight title fight between Dan 'Hendo' Henderson and current champion Rafael 'Feijao' Cavalcante. Dan Henderson can only be described as a legend of the sport. The only competitor to ever simultaneously hold world titles in two different weight classes, and with a victim list that reads as a who's who of the sport, his pedigree cannot be overstated. Rafael 'Feijao' Cavalcante is an aggressive knockout specialist who trains with Anderson Silva and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in Brazil. He holds a huge arsenal of strikes with all his KO wins coming with different types of strike.

This unmissable event can only be seen in the UK on Primetime, channel 480 on Sky, through Virgin Media 'On Demand' or at www.primetime.co.uk. The whole event will cost £9.95.

Primetime - Free To Air Event

Primetime is officially celebrating its move into free to air programming after securing MMA series Strikeforce Challengers. Primetime is broadcasting the entirety of the Strikeforce Challengers competition free to air as it establishes itself as the broadcast home of UK MMA.

Strikeforce Challengers is an MMA series produced by Strikeforce and Showtime to showcase and highlight up-and-coming fighters. Challenger events have allowed fighters to gain their first experience of a live televised environment and we have been lucky enough to see such stars as former Light Heavyweight Champion Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante, Matt Lindland, Ryan Couture (son of Randy) and Sarah Kaufman appear. Since the demise of Bravo, international MMA promoter Strikeforce has now turned to Primetime.

This unmissable event can only be seen in the UK on Primetime, channel 480 on Sky or at www.primetime.co.uk. The whole event is FREE OF CHARGE and it takes place on Saturday 2 April at 7.00 PM.

Well well it didn't take Zuffa (UFC) long to bring this to the table, I bet they don't show Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley April 9th live & free to air???

Strikeforce Challengers: Wilcox vs. Damm is on April 1st (Friday) so it won't be a live event.
