RE: All Thing's Queen
Brian and Rodger have both gone on record numerous times saying that they don't need the money anymore so I'm rather disappointed why they'd choose to cash in on yet another Queen compilation entitled forever with the only new song never released being There Must Be More To Life Than This which isn't exactly a Queen song bladewave

If you want to buy something decent buy the Queen Live At The Rainbow DVD instead which will appeal to fans of the original hard rocking 70's Queen long before the days of such radio friendly numbers such as Gaga and Magic.

I belatedly caught up with that ITV "Nation's Favourite Queen Song" rundown, which had some good moments. Brian & Roger basically slagging off John for not coming out to play any more doesn't surprise me. More power to John, I say.

That the other two are touring the UK with Adam Lambert in the new year seems less about keeping the "memory of Freddie" alive as prolonging the money-making career of Taylor & May.

Of course, then I found out that BBC1 are using Queen + Adam Lambert as part of their Hogmanay broadcasting, a bizarre plan in many respects.

We saw them at Newcastle when they toured with Paul Rodgers.

They played some Free and Bad Company stuff as well as the Queen classics. Awesome gig!!!! Smile

Given that I scorned the Paul Rodgers association mightily, I was surprisingly impressed when I got to watch them in concert, and the album they did had some good moments too.

For a limited time only the 2011 Documentary Queen Days Of Our Lives is available to watch on the BBC IPlayer.

It can also be purchased on DVD and Blu Ray but don't waste your money as all the extras that didn't make it to the cut you can find on youtube.

For anybody that is interested on BBC1 tonight you can rock your way into the New Year with a live concert entitled Queen Rock Big Ben. It's rather weird that despite the fact that original lead singer Freddie Mercury kicked the bucket over 20 years Brian and Rodger are still carrying on as if Queen is still current.

Just what must the late Freddie make of all this if he is looking down I wonder Rolleyes

RE: All Thing's Queen
I must admit it's rather surreal watching a live Queen gig on the telly. The last time I can remember such an event taking place was back in 1992 when the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert was also aired live which was also on the BBC. I'm too young to remember Live Aid in 85.

In terms of Adam Lambert now fronting the band, although I've always hated manufactured pop acts he seems to fit in much better than the Paul Rodgers association did as his vocal range is almost identical to Freddie Mercury's.

When Paul Rodgers fronted the band a compromise had to be reached such as playing half of his material too. With Adam Lambert they are able to play the Queen catalogue to the fullest. It would have been nice if they could have talked John Deacon into participating but he decided a long time ago that as far as he was concerned with Freddie no longer around then he just doesn't feel comfortable playing in the band anymore.

So far I have to say that I've been very impressed with the gig so far. Going into 2015 and Queen are still able to keep their music alive for a whole new generation Smile
