Mate they always use Freddie's voice when it comes to Bohemian Rhapsody as a tribute to the man, if truth be known neither Paul Rodgers or Adam Lambert come close to Freddie Mercury as the man was a genius. There can only be one and that was Freddie.

Happy New Year BTW Big Grin

Just been watching my recording from last night.

Obviously nobody could match Freddie but, having seen Paul Rogers live, he was alot closer than you'd expect and streets ahead of Adam Lambert.

Aye Paul Rogers is Fairly decent. His background in Bad Company, gives a bluesy/rock aspect to his performance, which is pretty cool.

RE: All Thing's Queen
Paul Rodgers solo or with Bad Company works well, with Queen his style just never did fit in with the band and the fact that he had to read the lyrics off of an autocue in all his time with Queen was shameful to me.

Fair play to Brian May and Roger Taylor for keeping the music of Queen still alive as it gives the opportunity to give people such as myself who were far too young to see the band in its original line up as I was 8 the last time Freddie was on stage working his kind of magic as to say in 86.

A lot of purists will also say that when Freddie died the band died and anything since then has really been an extended tribute.

A few pictures to upload to this Thread I think Smile

Queen 1990 - Brit Awards

Incidentally aswell as picking up the lifetime achievement award for their contribution to British music Queen had originally agreed to perform at the awards ceremony with a melody of their greatest hits, however they pulled out at the last minute and judging by the pictures and Freddies very gaunt appearance I think that explains as to the reasons why so no such farewell performance ever did happen.

The only band that I know that never did perform after picking up an award of this magnitude.

Well, it's near enough anniversary time again, so here's a classic from 25 years ago:

Cool
I think I've got almost all their proper albums (another compilation came out the other week).

Can't even believe or seem possible that it is 25 years today since Freddie's passing

Always remembered and certainly I would say that their live Aid performance in 1985 simply was one of their greatest ever performances and blew every other band off stage that day in my opinion

Only just found out that his mother passed away recently.

As Financial Domination continues to grow, less enthusiasm is required when putting on a show.

There's a new doc on BBC4 tomorrow night, about the making of the "News of the World" album.
