But the lack of any one player who seems to get into everyone's team shows the lack of true star quality in the Premiership this season, unlike previous seasons when Rooney, Ronaldo and Henry would have been impossible to leave out of anyone's team, save for those of the fans for whom they play.

Regards Craig Gardner, he may not be an obvious choice for anyone, but every time I've seen him play live on Sky or in person he's always impressed me a lot, and I've wondered if he's crap every time he's not playing live so as not to be chased by bigger clubs.

Considering he's not high profile and United seem to be shopping in football's equivalent of Poundland these days, he's the sort of player who'd be a decent squad man methinks! Hey, can't be worse than Darron fucking Gibson can he???

As regards the Nani ommision, you're absolutely right mate! I was just thinking the very same thing walking towards Old Trafford on Saturday morning; how the fuck did I forget Nani? He's a bit of a dick with all the diving and sulking when he doesn't get a free-kick, but he's comfortably not only United's but the Premiership's best attacking/creative midfielder, but try telling that to the Scott Parker, Charlie Adam and Raul Mereilles fan club!
