quick reply box
Don't know if this is a common problem across many threads, but when I click into the quick reply box on this thread I get bounced straight onto Alex Adams' site.
Got nothing against Alex, but I was trying to reply to the post.

What is this quick reply box? I haven't seen that feature of the forum. Am I missing something?

Its just below your post. To see what I see, click the attachment below.
If you cannot see the same, you have it disabled in your UserCP

I see, that explains it then. Thank you for the explanation and the screenshot. Now I'm wondering if this feature is useful at all? I can always enable it and try it out.

RE: quick reply box
OK I think I've finally diagnosed and resolved this issue. It was one of those tricky problems to resolve in that the problem couldn't be seen in all browsers. It's always more difficult to find and fix an issue when it doesn't even exist in some browsers. Anyway the piece of rouge code has now been identified and eliminated. Smile

I've tried this feature out and it doesn't seem to be hugely useful.

RE: quick reply box
I use it all the time. I find it handy as I'm able to see the most recent post (usually the one I'm replying to) just above the quick reply box as I type my message. When posting using this quick reply box, the forum page isn't reloaded, instead the new post is simply added to the bottom of the already open page via javascript (I think) in much the same way that 'thanks' are added to a post (unless the new post is the first of a new page in which case the new forum page is loaded). This means posting is potentially quicker as using the 'post reply' or 'new reply' buttons require two pages to load - requiring less pages to load in order to post is especially useful when the forum's running slowly.
