RE: X Factor 2011
It's a form of entertainment and a tv show, you not liking it doesn't make it pointless!

& fans of shows you don't like don't make them the type of people that 'need to get out more' - it's a tv show that is hugely popular that you don't like, so get over it and don't post in this thread if you don't like it Big Grin

The show needs to dedicate more time to the auditions and less time inflating the judges egos. Cutting out all the contestant sad story bullshit would also help.

I'm not a regular viewer of these type of shows - too much bullshit and sob stories for my liking - but watching that young girl from Northern Ireland sing, honestly it brought a tear to my eye. So sweet.

Why do all these auditions attract all the unstable members of society

One of the girls has split personality (and they still put her through) and one untalented guy just wanted a fight. bladewave

That George what an A**hole comes on saying he's matured since 2009 then shows he hasn't ,can't sing save shit and to top it off picks on Tulisa what a prick and yet the producers allow such dregs of society to appear in the first place

Because that is the nature of this sad little show and its even sadder viewers, to pick out and publicly humiliate the people who have absolutely no chance of making it but who still have a dream that they can.Don't forget these people have passed before the production team who select either those they think have a chance or the complete no hopers if you are just average you don't get on telly because its not good telly.

RE: X Factor 2011
My biggest beef with Shit factor is the way it has completely ruined the UK music industry with its production line of insipid, plastic karaoke clones.Sure the winner will steal the xmas number 1 off the back of umpteen weeks of free tv advertising aimed at pre-pubescent girls and their aunties and then disappear into a well deserved obscurity while the next clone is manufactured to take their place.
Its basucally a tv version of the local pub karaoke night for the plastic pop generation that has a stranglehold on the media in this country.Wheres the equivalent for up and coming rock bands who have struggled for years with no recognition, wheres the originality and creativity.Forget that its not about finding new talent its about finding mediocre singers to mold into cash generators for a short time then drop them and move on to the next. Last years winner (whos name I cant remember, and thankfully has disapeared without trace) even had the sheer nerve to take a Biffy Clyro song full of personal emotion and passion, drain all that out and turn it into a bland dirge. They couldn't even get the title right thats how thick they are!

my point exactly!

"Don't quote me on that"

People say, "I was born ready" with me, it's like, I wasn't born ready, but like 10 minutes after, I'm kind of ready-ish...

all views are my own... someone told me to say that and I thought it was a good idea

RE: X Factor 2011
Sorry Brummie even though I would like to I cannot agree that this type of programme is responsible for the standard of music today. The music industry was in decline long before the Xfactor existed. The 90's produced a flurry of one hit wonders, the majority of which are pretty forgetable. Nowadays we have Lady Gaga who can release any old shit which will sell as long as she dresses like a nutjob.

Take the programme for what it is, a bit of light entertainment and a chance to have a laugh at deluded individuals.

The music industry has been poor for a long time, will the same old generic dance music crap or musicians such as Lady Gaga etc coming out of nowhere and spewing out tons of the same old garbage which is only popular because she is 'eccentric' (it's because she's Illuminati)

I do sympathise with you regarding rock music, they don't seem to get mainstream enough, and some acts are brilliant. But the ones that do break through often conform eventually anyway (Paramore off the top of my head), as labels want them to sell records, and be and act in a certain (Illuminati) way, rather than be true to themselves.

I would have just agreed with the whole of what dirtbag said, but I don't agree with this. I hate the stupid auditions, because they are exploiting people who are obviously not with it 100% or who are actors. I like the idea of unearthing a new singing sensation like Leona, but the issue these days with the show is that its too often the same kind of person that wins, and there's too much focus on the drama backstage between the contestants and with the judges
