lets hope the rest of the forum takes time out there day to fight for there right to be treat like adults.

From 44 to 77 votes in a day and its made it to the first page for the Dept of Culture Media and Sport raising its visibility massively. Things are looking up. Thanks to Admin and Hexit.

I read through it all, sorry to say i wont sign it, i really just dont care strongly enough about it, if i want porn I use the internet....i dont have to wait till 9pm before i can see it on there anyway

Your choice but if no one takes a stand the internet will go the same way in a few years. Did you know Sexstation has to register with Ofcom despite being internet only?

You will always be able to get some sort of pornography on the internet.
Failing that, 10 years or so back, when the internet wasnt in every home, and we only had 4 channels on the telly box, we all still managed to bash one out if required, it was just a case of using your imagination
.........but maybe im wrong, maybe all the government needs to do to sort the countries problems out is just sort it out so we can get a bit of porn on the telly. (lets keep this in perspective, if the worst thing in your life is not having on demand hardcore porn your doing alright)

My last word on the subject before I get boring. There are a range of sites that ISPs already block. Give it time and that rules will be extended from illegal content to content that is not child safe. The list will never be perfect but porn will be much harder to find and could result in disconnection.

Anyway the petition is about TV, treating all types of 18 equivalent content the same. Right now the strongest horror is available free to view on any channel from 10pm as well as the most outrageous comedy and dangerous imitable stunts. And blasphemy. But as soon as a woman takes her top off the channel gets harrassed to death and the limit is cert 15 equivalent even at 3am.

Must go now, the Sanex advert where half a dozen women rub coloured lubricants into their skin has just started, followed by the Linx beach shower ad.

The site's comments on e-petition privacy are a little reassuring.

I would still be very surprised if a parliamentary discussion on this will make much difference as they will likely rehearse the points about child protection on free to view channels and vote accordingly. But it is certainly interesting to see how many signs this gets and how far it goes. /sign
