On the subject of Les Dawson and ghosts, Dawson would not play the Empire Theatre, Sunderland for the latter years of his life after supposedly seeing the ghost of Sid James.

On the anniversary of James's death, Dawson was performing there and occupying the same dressing-room where James had collapsed and died during a show some years before. Dawson emerged from the dressing-room after the half-time interval visibly frightened and severely shaken. He finished the show, grabbed his stuff and left immediately, which was most unlike him as he almost always stayed on to sign autographs and chat to fans.

Dawson was a shrewd, hard-headed businessman, but he instructed his agent never to accept any booking there ever again under any circumstances.

He never spoke about the incident ever again.

There have been a number of other "sightings" of James's ghost by other people in the theatre since.

i was chatting to mrs cheesy grin... and she tells me that there's been no paranormal activity in her house for years... but she reckons that once his pills arrive... she's hoping for some stirring under the sheets........??? (i've told her not to hold out too much hope)
