Football stats
I thought a thread on football stats was a good idea. Here are a few from the Premier League this season:

Asenal: Robin van Persie has averaged more goal attempts per game than any other Premier League player this season (4.6).

Aston Villa: Darren Bent has touched the ball less often than any other Premier League player this season (24.6 times per game).

Blackburn Rovers: Yakubu has scored more Premier League goals this season for lowly Blackburn than Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll and Craig Bellamy combined.

Bolton Wanderers: This season Kevin Davies has become the second player (after Lee Bowyer) to pick up 100 yellow cards in the Premier League.

Chelsea: John Terry has the highest pass completion rate (91.8%) of any defender in the Premier League this season.

Everton: Although a striker, Louis Saha has not scored in almost 1000 minutes of Premier League football.

Fulham: Only Wayne Rooney, Luis Suarez, Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor have averaged more shots per game than Clint Dempsey this season, who has double that of any other Fulham player.

Liverpool: Of players who have not scored in the Premier League this season the player with the most failed attempts is Stewart Downing (46 attempts).

Manchester City: The most successful passes in a Premier League game this season by a single player is 99 by Yaya Toure for Man City away to Fulham.

Manchester United: The most free kicks conceded in a Premier League game this season by a single player is 8 by Antonio Valencia playing for Man Utd at Newcastle.

Newcastle United: Demba Ba has the best goals from shots record in the Premier League this season. 25% of his shots have scored (15 goals from 60 shots).

Norwich City: Norwich have averaged less possession this season than any other club (42.3%) but have scored the most headed goals (13).

QPR: Only Lucas Leiva and Scott Parker have averaged more successful tackles per game this season than Alejandro Faurlin.

Stoke City: Only 8 of their 22 goals this season have been scored from open play.

Sunderland: 8 of Sebastian Larsson's last 14 goals have been scored direct from a set-piece.

Swansea City: Midfielder Leon Britton has the best pass completion rate in the Premier League this season (93.8%).

Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs have averaged more shots on target per game this season than any other Premier League club (7.5).

West Bromwich Albion: Only Manchester City and Arsenal have played fewer long balls (30 yards or more) per game than West Brom.

Wigan Athletic: Ben Watson touched the ball 110 times in the match against Sunderland, the highest in the Premier League this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Since Steven Fletcher signed for Wolves he has scored more headed goals than any other player in the Premier League (8).

The stat is courtesy of OPTA who claim that Downing has had 46 shots in 21 league appearances this season.

RE: Football stats
I heard about the Darren Bent stat - no reflection on him I think, but rather a case of starved of service? I also heard that Andy Carroll touches the ball less playing for Liverpool than he did for Newcastle, suggesting perhaps that Liverpool are not 'looking for him' as much as Newcastle did?

RE: Football stats
Is there a stat for the club with the most owners in a certain space of time? Portsmouh must win it hands down.

RE: Football stats
You're probably right aaron. Anyway here are a few more stats from the Premier League:

Arsenal: The club which has fielded the most players in this season's Premier League is Arsenal (30).

Aston Villa: New signing and striker Robbie Keane has scored just 3 goals in his last 29 Premier League matches.

Blackburn Rovers: Blackburn scored 3 goals against Fulham when Blackburn only had 10 players on the field. The last time this happened in the Premier League was 4 years ago (by Arsenal).

Bolton Wanderers: During his time there, Bolton won 30% of their Premier League matches with Gary Cahill in the team, compared to 17% won when he wasn't playing.

Chelsea: The only club never to name an unchanged starting XI in the Premier League this season is Chelsea.

Everton: Leighton Baines has made more crosses than any other player in the Premier League this season (171).

Fulham: The only club to win a match in the Premier League this season after being behind on 85 minutes is Fulham (2-1 against Arsenal).

Liverpool: The most penalties awarded for fouls on a single player this season is 3 (Luis Suarez).

Manchester City: The best shot conversion rate in the Premier League is by Man City who have scored with 22% of their attempts on goal.

Manchester United: The most prolific assist-goalscorer combination in the Premier League this season is the assist by Antonio Valencia and the goal by Wayne Rooney (this combination has achieved 7 goals).

Newcastle United: 58% of the goals Newcastle have conceded this season have come from set pieces, the highest in the Premier League.

Norwich City: Grant Holt has been penalised for fouls more often than any other player in the Premier League this season (50 free kicks conceded).

Queens Park Rangers: QPR have the least shooting accuracy in the Premier League this season (34% on target).

Stoke City: Stoke have taken over a hundred more long throws than any other Premier League team (242, Norwich are second with 141).

Sunderland: Sunderland have made more tackles than any other team in the Premier League this season (379).

Swansea City: After going behind against Arsenal, Swansea equalised within 45 seconds - the fastest goal scored after conceding a goal by any club this season.

Tottenham Hotspur: Emmanuel Adebayor has conceded the most free kicks for offside this season (39).

West Bromwich Albion: WBA have only won 1 of their last 20 Premier League away games in London (W1 D6 L13).

Wigan Athletic: Wigan have conceded 11 goals in the final 15 minutes of play in their matches this season, more than any other side.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Wayne Hennessey has made more saves than any other Premier League goalkeeper this season (108).
