I Saw The Devil, here is Kim Ji Woon's finest film,a serial killer thriller,it follows a secret service agent whose wife has been horribly murdered by a serial killer(played by Choi Min Sik of Oldboy fame) that the police can't seem to catch, the agent soon catches up to him and rather than kill him he knocks him out and makes him swallow a tracking device so he can find out where he is and show up and beat him up some more whenever he plans to take another victim, this is an excellent thriller that has shades of Seven about it,very stylish and also surprisingly very violent and gory in places,i know some people can't be arsed with subtitled films but this is really worth it,it is one of the finest psychological thrillers i have seen, and the best asian film i have seen, see this one when you can

We got a love between us and it's like electricity * We got a love like a violent mind * We get our love from white white lines * We got a love that ain't got no name * We kiss our love with our lips like pain * We got a love from nowhere towns * We got a love like electric sounds * We got a love that ain't got no shame * We kiss our love with our lips like pain * Kissing our love with our lips like pain

Suspiria, anyone that has seen this spaghetti horror must agree that is one of the finest and most stylish horror films ever made, directed by Dario Argento,a master of horror known for his use of wild lighting and quirky camera angles, this is about an american woman that goes to a ballet academy in Germany and soon some of her fellow students are being murdered by something that stalks the corridors at night, excellent, excellent suspense horror, the music score really helps too,the music performed by Argento and his band Goblin, the opening scene leading up to the first murder is executed very well and sets the pace for the rest of the film, see this now

The Godfather Part Two,the sequel to Francis Ford Coppola's mafia masterpiece, some people think this is better than the first one, excellent it is but not better than the first one,it goes between 2 different storylines, flashbacks of Don Vito's rise to power, with Robert DeNiro as Vito in an oscar winning role, and there is a storyline involving Michael trying to deal with a traitor in his midst, epic storytelling again and Al Pacino was robbed of an oscar but part one is better

Bronson, the true story of Britain's most violent prisoner,Michael Peterson, better known by another name "Charles Bronson",he re-named himself after the tough guy actor,Tom Hardy's performance in this film is unbelievably commited and amazing, really shows what a nutter Bronson is,the film follows his times getting shifted to a mental ward and then back to prison, worth seeing,Tom Hardy should of got some more awards for this, but now he is such a big star (Inception,The Dark Knight Rises,This Means War),a prison drama that is not too depressing, recommended

Scream, slasher films are always good fun, people getting killed one by one by a mysterious killer,Wes Craven directs this slasher which revived the genre in the 90s,it follows a group of high school students a bit on edge cause a fellow student and her bf were killed, and for one student,Sidney Prescott, she starts getting menacing phone calls and death threats, all on the anniversary of her mother's death, this is basically a whodunnit like most slasher films,a good list of suspects but when i first saw this i predicted one of the killers but the second one surprised me,but this isn't a serious slasher it is more of a satire on those kind of films, students discussing horror film rules and one student played by busty Rose McGowan even says a humourous line "Don't kill me Mr Ghostface,i want to be in the sequel",one of my favourite horror films,i was thinking of putting Suspiria ahead of this but watched this again recently and it is still the finest slasher i have seen, the opening scene is my favourite film scene of all time,so well paced,HIGHLY recommended,it has 3 sequels, they are alright

Mulholland Drive, quite difficult to sum this film up,a very unique twisty-turny mystery thriller, involves an amnesiac actress and another woman wanting to get her big break in acting, when i first watched this i didn't have a clue what just happened but repeated viewings i soon got it,and what a masterpiece this now is,David Lynch doing what he does best and that is mindfucking his audience,Naomi Watts is incredible in this film, not only is she smoking hot,she can actually act,one little thing that bugs me is why Lynch cast Billy Ray Cyrus in it,why get this achey-breaky arsehole in this dark moody sexy thriller? but a minor flaw, this is a clever film, something to watch and think about then watch again, but for any guy or girl that doesn't get it or finds it boring there is a a bit of lesbian action in there

The Godfather, the greatest mob thriller there is,considered one of the greatest films ever made, and it is,number 4 in my list,it is about the Corleone Family,a family of mobsters and their hitmen, and Marlon Brando is the Godfather Don Vito Corleone, and it is basically mob life,he is doing favours for his friends, someone tries to kill him,his hotheaded older son just wants all enemies dead, youngest son Michael has nothing to do with the family business but then soon does,he shows more of what he is all about in part two, nothing else to say but that this film is incredibly awesome brilliant, shame about part three

Akira, the greatest animated film ever made, and one of the greatest films made, the manga comic wa split into 6 volumes each one the size of a phone book and now Katsuhiro Otomo adapted his own manga and made this epic,it is set in Neo-Tokyo,the future, and a young biker crashes into a child with weird mental powers, the biker is taken away by the military and soon he becomes a total psychopath bent on destroying Tokyo, and his childhood friend has to stop him, there are other subplots in this film, but that is the main one,the animation in this is incredible and pisses over any Disney effort at the time, the work on the mutation scene is a sight to see, plus other positives are the music score, very good, and an excellent action sequence in the sewers,do not see the horrendous dubbed version where all the characters talk like a ninja turtle,it is shit, see the subbed version,Anime at it's finest

Dazed And Confused, always a favourite of mine, remember seeing this when i was in primary school still and loving it,loved the characters and the humour and rocking 70s rock soundtrack,i recommend this to everybody,it is a comedy-drama coming of age film i guess you could call it,it is set in 1976 and shows different high school students having some fun after their last day of school, fun involving boozing and getting stoned basically and it all climaxes at a big party outdoors, another note is some future stars that appear in this film like Ben Affleck,Milla Jovovich and Matthew McConaughey and his character is the best,a great feel good film to watch and plus liking a lot of classic rock music is good cause this film is loaded with itthe poster says "See it with a bud",i say See it cause it is a brilliant film
