The thread is hilarious! 'ScottishBloke' is supposedly representing all the channels and users of this forum, having been elected to do so by 50,000 forum members.

It's pretty obvious to me that someone's impersonating you SB. Could you clear up the matter?

Well I most certainly never posted such a thing, very flattering that somebody is acting as an imposter, but just to make it clear it was not me that posted that on mumsnet. Fuck me I must becoming something of a celebrity if I've now got a tribute act on the go Big Laugh

I rather think this is in fact a non-story, created by the Daily Mail (as usual). They may have found out that two of the channel licences were Dutch and thought they could build a story around that, trawling the internet for selective quotes expressing outrage.

Those quotes from Mumsnet are a year old! I've found the thread they were taken from, which includes the ludicrous remark about toddlers and the "hey, instant porn" quote.

There was no mention in the thread of the scandal of having 'Dutch porn' on our TV sets. Also, at least 30% of the views expressed were of the sensible variety - the ease of blocking out the channels and the need for proper parenting.

Here's the thread:

I'd love to know who the imposter was - come on own up! Smile

Who in the right fucking mind gives a toddler a tv and lets them stay up all night? Ofcom shouldn't be speaking to Nicam but going and reporting the people to Social Services because these parents are clearly incapable of doing the job themselves.
Also, what's so offensive about the naked body? It's perfectly fine for the news to show footage of a warzone/political rioting pre-watershed but something as natural as the human body is so offensive that it can't be shown on an ADULT orientated channel in it's natural state.
I don't have freeview myself but my brother does and as far as i'm aware, Freeview like Sky have the adult channels situated well away from mainstream channels (several shopping or audio channels either side of the adult section).

An easy way round the problem could be for Ofcom to set up a free to call number which gives instructions to these thicko's who are unable to work out on how to block the Adult Channels and also a booklet on how to do this on every TV system should be posted out to every address in the Country, at the end of the day where do you draw the line, also ban fags and booze incase your youngster decides to take it up if you leave them sitting around the house. Whatever happened to leaving the responsibilty of bringing up your kids to the Parents/Guardians, like I said where do you draw the line, softcore Adult Channels have allways been an easy target, at the end of the day whatever happened to the word commonsense. As for FTA Dutch Porn, wishful thinking, mild titilation at best bladewave

Whilst this mumsnet scottishbloke thing appears to be a fake it occured to me that whoever has taken on your persona actually is probably going about publicising this matter a lot better than you have..

For a start they have made a stand and taken it right to the opposition, instead of posting in threads hidden away in the boring section of a forum that doesnt even have enough regular contributors to get 10% of the signatures required to get the petition that you've campaigned for passed!

My suggestion if you are serious about taking this all the way is if the real Scottishbloke signed up to mumsnet it would be inevitable in my opinion that the Daily Mail would pick up on his comprehensive points and spread the word that he has been trying to put out to the masses! Also get a twitter and facebook campaign @'ing the pm's and channel reps out there ... be a big voice in public rather than a big voice to a lets face it rarely visited section of a relatively small forum!

Well Gaz you have made a fair comment, it's definately something I'll be looking into. I think the momentum carried on from what mumsnet have recieved could possibly be equally recieved if it was given an opposing view and I think the average person in the street would support our cause more than their's because in this democracy we should be free to make our own informed choices, to use an argument such as only wanting FTA porn on the telly isn't obviously going to work, it would have to be worded in a manner that appeals to the broader aspect of censorship, yes whoever the imposter is, well I take my hat off to him. This is something I will be actively looking into Cool

mumsnet like wikipedia take it with a huge pinch of salt.

here is the bbc report http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/17297090

"It (sixt tv that put the compaint in) is complaining because viewers have to flick through adult chat broadcasts to get to their channel." the kiddies channels on freeview are late 70's, babestation is 94-97. why are kiddies starting at 94-97?

Interesting to note that this 'BIG story - OHH SAVE THE BABIES!!!' doesn't even feature on our wonderful regulators front-page.

I think the cunts are too embarrassed now (so they pulled it fast). Maybe their plan has back-fired and is about to come back to bite them on their junket loving asses!!!

They make both themselves and the British Government look like fascist clowns at every opportunity!!!
