Is It Time The Babe Channels Stand Up To Ofcom And Show What They Want
Now I know what you're all thinking, yet another Ofcom Thread like we haven't got too much allready. But this one is a direct poll, so opinions are not all that neccessary. You will have 3 options to choose from.

1 Yes
2 No
3 Undecided

We need a sub-poll for option 3:

1. Absolutely undecided
2. Partially undecided
3. Undecided about strength of indecision

There are quite a lot of girls who used to be on these channels that believe that webshows rather than TV is the way to go as Ofcom can't regulate them there and with Babestation promoting the babesontv site it might not be too long before some of the other channels move to having more of the shows be on the web rather than on TV.

That's all very well mikeafc in the short term but this undue regulating of the babe channels has to stop because allow them to get their way on this one then it is inevitable before they censor the internet too, this problem needs nipped on the bud right now bladewave

I'd like to say yes but the pragmatist in me forces me to say no. The social trend over the last few years seems to be edging towards greater censorship across all platforms, TV, Internet or whatever. As long as the babe channels are making a profit they will bow to any and all restrictions Ofcom place upon them. When they're no longer making profits, they'll just disappear from our TV screens and switch to internet webcams where although they have more freedom to show what they want, the competition is far greater and profits are therefore harder to come by.

But in the longer term I expect to see greater censorship of the web also. With recent laws passed by governments in many countries the idea of a free internet is on its last legs. The big corporations are trying to take control of the entire internet and their friends in government are only too happy to help them get their way. I can see a time in the not too distant future when we'll all be browsing the web on a pay per click basis.

I think the channel owners are intelligent enough and have enough legal advisers to have already 'stood up to ofcom' if they were not showing what they wanted to show.

I voted no because there's no point in waiting for the channels to do your work for you. If you don't like Ofcom's broadcasting code it's up to you to let Ofcom know about it and do what you can to bring about change.

I voted "no" as the whole premise of this poll is daft. The babe channels couldn't do what's suggested even if they wanted to (and there's no evidence they do).

They'd simply lose their license and go bust.

There are (apparently) 50K members of this forum and the e-petition can't even make it to 600 signatures...
