Forum Fault

Great to see the forum coming back to life. A big thank you to Admin, and all those involved with the restoration process and the day to day running of this site.

It would have been good if this link could be permanently displayed somewhere, perhaps in the scrolling message/link on the main page.

I only found this link myself around midday yesterday. I had been in the dark about what was happening since the forum crashed on me around 2.30pm on Tuesday.
The original thread "A site glitch", where similar problems earlier that day were first reported, is still missing.
This is the biggest crash of the forum since I joined in 2008.

Very nice to see things slowly getting back to normal.

To be honest there for a moment, I thought it was going to take longer than this, based on a similar thing happening to Liveshow-tv.com a couple of years back. It took 2 weeks before they got everything restored, and some things were never recovered.

I just waited 24 hours before getting in touch with Admin about it. And to his credit, he has kept me up-to-date with the progress, ever since.

So well done to Admin & the team for getting it back up and running so quick.

It felt like forum apocalypse, the end. There simply is no other forum out there where you can openingly discuss the babe channels, elsewhere you'd be locked up for being some kind of perv

Since most posts do not use attachments and the embedded pics and vids are not stored directly on the forum, the amount of actual forum data cannot be that big (?)
900,000 posts at say 1KB each is less than 1GB.
I assume all the cross linking and other database functions, tools, infrastructure, and member management, avatars, stored PMs etc take up more space.
It would be interesting to know how "big" the forum actually is.
