hamilton = shit or bust
button = smooth and steady

what was that old moral again... tortoise and the hare, wasn't it...???

I never sit on the fence. I prefer to drop kick it out the way instead! Could possibly be a big fan of wankspangling?

RE: Formula 1
Button is the best driver out there in my opinion. Vettel is great leading the race, but has been seen, he struggled when he (excuse the line) has to come from behind (oooo-errr)

Button is a cool customer and even before he was a champ and driving the Honda I thought "If he could get a decent car he'd win" . He then proved that with Brawn.

RE: Formula 1
looking back over the season (and i know these are all 'if's'), Button should have won and Monaco and would have if the race wasnt stopped early for a crash (that yet again Hamilton was involved in) should have been 5th at Valencia when hydraulics failed and would have been 4th at Silverstone when the wheel fell off, realistically Button on this years form is Vettels biggest challenger

What sort of logic is that?

Hamilton retires, Button takes a 3 point lead, therefore he's a better driver?
So before Spa, Hamilton had more points so he must have been the better driver, and if the opposite result happens in Monza and Hamilton takes the points lead again, he'll be back to being the better driver right?

2010 Championship Results

Hamilton - 240 points
Button - 214 points

Hamilton - 3 wins
Button - 2 wins

Hamilton - 1 pole
Button - 0 poles

Hamilton - 9 podiums
Button - 7 podiums

Hamilton - 5 fastest laps
Button - 1 fastest lap

scoreboard doesnt lie

Yes but let's not forget that he didn't just have a 'decent' car, he had by far and away the best car on the grid.

All Drivers in every season have their if's and but's and so called good luck / bad luck etc, saying 'if X hadn't happened then Y would be true' just doesn't work.

I like both Hamilton and Button, I don't want one to do better than the other I'm happy when either of them win, that's why I can look at them objectively and see that overall Hamilton is the better driver.

RE: Formula 1
the logic in that is to finish first, first you have to finish, Hamilton has cost himself many a good result this season (and his career) through his own incidents and accidents rather than just mechanical failure, the ultimate decider for 'best driver' is the world championship at the end of the year so of course whoever has the most championship points can be considered the better.
If Jenson managed to sort his qualifying performance out he would be looking much more competitive in the championship over the last 2 years than the stats show.

Look at the overtakes pulled in the last 2 races (and in Canada), how clean and precise they have been everytime Lewis is lining up an overtake your waiting for one of the cars to end up in the wall

Incidentally The last time I remember Jenson going out of a race through a spin or accident was Belgium 2009 when he was punted off the track by none other than Lewis Hamilton.

You can use the 'what if' argument for or against anyone, there's no logic to it other than trying to make a desparate plea whilst ignoring the fact that changing a single moment - even for the better - can change the whole outcome.

It's racing, not a gentle sunday drive. Lewis takes the chances some others don't, and he has made many perfectly clean overtakes.

schumacher puts people into the wall, stops on corners or runs into them. the hamliton Kobayashi crash was 6 of 1 half a dozen of the other, kobayashi tried go the outside hamilton went for the racing line and two objects cannot occupy the same space.

Sky will be showing F1 live next year.

They have already signed BBC regular Martin Brundle to continue in his present role.
