Sky Sports have unveiled their Formula 1 team of pundits, presenters and commentators ahead of the 2012 campaign.

In an eagerly-anticipated announcement, the broadcaster confirmed David Croft will join Martin Brundle in the commentary box for every race of the season.

Brundle will be on air during each day of all Grands Prix, dividing his time between the paddock, pitlane and the commentary box.

The flexibility means former F1 driver Anthony Davidson will be reunited with ex-BBC Radio stalwart Croft for commentary duties on each weekend's practice sessions.

Sky Sports executive producer Martin Turner said: "In Martin we have the outstanding F1 broadcaster, on the track and in broadcasting, he's proved it time and again.

"Working alongside him, David Croft is a passionate, experienced commentator and Anthony Davidson brings great technical knowledge to live practice sessions."

In support, both Natalie Pinkham and Ted Kravitz will scour the pitlane in search of the inside scoop, with Kravitz also co-presenting a magazine show which is part of the Sky Sports package.

Ted's co-presenter on the magazine show will be Georgie Thompson, a familiar face to viewers of Sky Sports News, while Simon Lazenby will host each Grand Prix weekend.

And broadcasting veteran Steve Rider will complete the team as he stages a series of interviews with racing legends of the past and present.

They have taken the complete Radio 5 Live Commentary Team, so it will be interesting to see how the Beeb fill those positions now.

croft will be like legard when he switched from radio to tv, talking too much. anthony davidson is as useless at commentry as he is at driving. kraviz offers nothing. steve rider is just as bad as adrian chiles at presenting. the only good things about the team are the sexy ladies natalie pinkham and georgie thompson. sky f1 will cost arounf £800 a season to have. why pay for something when you can get free highlights and 10 live races? f1 races have long periods of boredom unless there are crashes, wheels coming off. the excitment is the last 20laps when the pitstops have been done and the fuel is low.

While I agree with this post, I no doubt will be caving in and getting the channel next year, you can't beat sky's coverage when they decide to pull out the stops.

sky have sent my old man a letter telling him he will be getting the coverage for free.....!! he was as surprised as you all probably are....!!! don't sound like sky to do such a thing, but it's there in black and white...!!!! he doesn't subscribe to any of the sports packages, and only has the basic HD package, with phone and unlim'd broadband..... so how come...???

Yes, I've just heard the same thing. If you have the Sky HD package, then the F1 channel will be included. Happy Days!!

Hoping for a better season than last year, it was a 1 horse race from the first race of the season. I hear Mclaren think the car is way more competitive this year, lets hope so. I dont think i can take another year of seeing vettels finger as much !
