Server upgrade 13/15 Dec

The forum will be changing its server either today or tomorrow as we upgrade to some new hardware. The migration will hopefully be completed as quickly and easily as possible, but there may be small amounts of downtime during the next 2 days. If there are any more specific details to hand regarding possible downtime they will be posted in this thread, but basically don't panic if the forum is unavailable for some time today or tomorrow whilst the upgrade is taking place. The target timescale is to have the migration to the new server completed by the end of Friday. If that plan changes for any reason or there seems to be any delay this thread will be updated accordingly.

The server upgrade is going ahead and the migration process to the new server is currently underway. It's happening a little later than planned, but hopefully will be completed within the next few hours.

I found the forum very slow this morning and tried to post this at 10.40am but was unable to and I lost access to the forum. I kept trying occassionally and finally got access about 11.10am. It seems ok now.
Looking at the "view today's posts" page, nothing was posted between 10.38am and 11.12am so I assume it was down for everyone.
This was the error I kept getting

There have been a fair few outages this morning, as the move to the new server started later than first thought (sometime early this morning, I gather.)

If the Forum is inaccessible at any time, have a look at the Official Twitter feed for information / updates, and possibly report any issues.

The move should hopefuly be completed 'soon'. Apologies for any inconvenience.

I've amended the date in the title of this thread from 13/14 Dec to read 13/15 Dec, given that the server move hasn't been completed as yet. Things are looking good now though and we're very close to the finishing line.

Forum's been playing up for me a bit tonight was getting this error message earlier

The forum has now been moved to its new location on a brand new server and seems to be settling in to its new home fairly well. There may still be one or two issues with server settings on the new server, of which Wazo's problem above may be an example. The error message reported by Wazo is currently being investigated and if anyone else sees any error messages please report them here so that they can be looked at too. There may be some settings on the new server which could still do with a little adjusting to get everything exactly right.
