Adult channels to be outlawed

^^ A similar thing happened in the US when they were trying to push through ACTA.

It's not a conspiracy of course, it's perfectly normal and acceptable in the free world to prevent people putting their views across to their democratically elected representatives

The EU have no right to ban porn, they are stupid twats.

I also think that babe channels, well daytime channels could get round it, by calling themselves something like interactive phone in programmes, well calling themselves something that doesn't relate to porn. I think there will be a lot of opposition for this across the EU.

Either there is free speech or there is not. It is one thing to put safety restrictions in place, anoter to ban an entire category of material. The only valid grounds for an outright ban is that material is dangerous even with controls. As R18 porn is legal in sex shops that does not apply.

I'm just back home after working the nightshift, yes a real job that takes a great deal of thought and I've had a very busy night. I work hard and this bullshit doesn't sit well with me.

In reality this so-called porn ban is never going to happen so I'll be able to sleep well without even giving this a second thought. Some people ought to get a real job instead of coming to these half cocked fantasist conclusions.

As far as Women's Rights and Gender Equality goes, well what about the women who are perfectly happy doing porn and glamour channels. Fuck me I used to think ofcom were our biggest enemies, now all is forgiven in light of this crock of shit coming from the European Union.

I agree with Scottishbloke, this "ban" is no more than "fantasist conclusions" and hysteria.
Iceland (the island thing not the supermarket) has not banned Porn. It is a proposed ban.

And in any case, the "Adult Channels" in the UK will not be "outlawed", the Babe Channels are Telly Shopping, not porn and the encrypted "Adult Channels" do not show porn.

Iceland has banned all printed porn and also banned strip clubs.

It's a total crock. Just another old slag looking to make a name for his/her-self in the press... We have loads like her over here that use the same tactics.
